We don’t need a leadership election we need the governing party to either get on with governing and shorting out the economy, Putin etc or to get out.

Surely there must be some dusty old clause in a long forgotten bill that says that if the King thinks it necessary, he can dismiss the lot of them and tell them to have a Gen Election?

After all, he is the one who asks the newly elected party leader to form a government, isn't he? Then why can't it work the other way around?

There is. But the royal family don’t intervene in politics.

Prince Charles must be "deary dearing" Grin

King! King!
I'm too excited.

Mumoblue · 20/10/2022 13:43

Can the Tories just leave already. They’re unfit to lead, but no, we have to just watch the endless flow of shit come out.

ptsdmum · 20/10/2022 13:43

I have a feeling they are going to try and push Jeremy cunt now. Surely there's got to be some way we the people can do about this shit show running the country?

PeekabooAtTheZoo · 20/10/2022 13:44

Can we just have King Charles running the country he seems competent.

jaundicedoutlook · 20/10/2022 13:44

And that’s that - she’s gone. Officially Britain’s shortest serving and worst Prime Minister.

HappySonHappyMum · 20/10/2022 13:44

Can't image which Tory would stand for leader - it's a poison chalice to whoever takes it on. Plus there's no decent MPs left to put in the cabinet, they've all proved how incompetent they are. Bet Boris is laughing out loud.

Please no!!!!!

boobot1 · 20/10/2022 13:44

There is no one, in any party, worth voting for. We are well and truly screwed, even if we have a GE.

StormzyinaTCup · 20/10/2022 13:44

ToastAndBeans · 20/10/2022 13:40

Will Boris come back 🤣

I wouldn’t bet against a Boris return it and have thought that since he left. I don’t think he is done yet.

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 20/10/2022 13:45

A small segment of the population gave us this truly abysmal PM after her predecessor had to be pushed out of office, now she's had to be shunted out of office after just over a month, and now the Tories expect to inflict another loser on the nation.

This is a poor imitation of democracy.

Prince Charles must be "deary dearing" Grin

I've wondered if he's thought of his namesake (Charles II) who in a high stakes move dissolved Parliament and ruled alone for the last 4 years of his life.

I've actually reached the point where I honestly don't think it could be worse. (NB I do know it won't happen!)

TheFormidableMrsC · 20/10/2022 13:45

Klank · 20/10/2022 13:38

She looked pretty happy about it. Fucking off outta there.

She did didn't she? Probably relieved. She was so out of her depth. I'm delighted! We need a GE now. Enough.

Creditscoredrop · 20/10/2022 13:45

somewhereovertherain · 20/10/2022 13:36

even a deluded resignation statement - we need a general election

Couldn’t agree more. She seems totally and utterly deluded. Couldn’t deliver a mandate, she’s struggle to deliver a pizza. What an absolute mess.

Libre2 · 20/10/2022 13:45

I’d quite like Charles Walker if we have to keep the stories. Where do I put in a request?

j712adrian · 20/10/2022 13:46

Gone

ptsdmum · 20/10/2022 13:32

I think it's been a massive fuck up since Boris got in, politics has become a joke, unfortunately at the country's expense

Completely agree.

CuriousCatfish · 20/10/2022 13:30

She will come out with her suitcase.

🤣🤣🤣

Mumoblue · 20/10/2022 13:46

Congratulations to the lettuce I suppose.

No10codswallop · 20/10/2022 13:47

Jeremy Hunt will not be standing
(Thank goodness!!)

It’s a shame it won’t though. He’s spent his whole life studying politics and seeing how the wheels turn and has a vested interest in not fucking it up.

PeekabooAtTheZoo · 20/10/2022 13:20

I hope she didn’t unpack anything if she’s moving out already. This is going to play havoc with her credit score.

🤣🤣🤣
