Tom Hanks.

Richard Armitage. He comes across very nicely on social media etc but I'd be interested to know what he's like behind closed doors. Ahem. The fact he's not married (failed engagement I think) makes me wonder, but I think he's just dedicated to his work.

Same for me! I'd rather not know.

Monty Don has to be lovely doesn't he?
Please don't anyone burst my bubble

Wonder what the celebs would think of us if asked.
Teresa May - not a celeb but a person of importance. Listens to what’s being said with her head at an angle nodding. Then talks not to give offence. I do wish all our professional politicians would could answer question.

She’s not nasty. She visits the school children in all her constituency schools and is always very very pleasant to them. So she should get credit for that. The children like her!

KelvingrovesBest · 24/10/2022 18:31

David Tennent. (DrWho) was just wonderful at the school where he filmed. It was a special educational needs school and he was remarkably patient with pupils and staff. Chatting to and appropriately acknowledging the pupils was a joy to see. Brilliant to keep this up day after day. A great man.

Emotionalsupportviper · 24/10/2022 19:22

He's had plenty of practice - hasn't he got 6 kids? 😂

Emotionalsupportviper · 24/10/2022 19:24

Sorry - that was in response to @KelvingrovesBest post

When she was home secretary she cut police starting pay by £4,000.

David Jason?

I think you were wise to include the question mark on this particular 'national treasure'..

marktayloruk · 24/10/2022 20:29

I meant what have people got against David Jason?

Daisy May Cooper. She comes across as down to earth, and some of her Instagram posts have been very funny. I'd be disappointed if she was vile in real life.

My friend bumped into her in Asda (she lives nearby) and she was really nice and posed for a ridiculous photo.

Firebird83 · 24/10/2022 21:35

Simon Reeve

SequinsandStilettos · 24/10/2022 22:02

David Jason - there are only two things, people might have against him.
One was his self-confessed innuendo on set
metro.co.uk/2019/12/10/david-jason-accused-sexual-harassment-confessing-won-innuendo-award-darent-bend-im-show-11590231/
The other allegedly was that convicted paedophile Derek Sear was housesitting David's house and used it for nefarious purposes - David was unaware of Sear's proclivities and they have not been friends since (23 years ago if the report in the tweet is correct not fake). twitter.com/craftymuvva/status/954094301239275521

As for Miranda Hart, she keeps her love life or lack thereof private. I have no idea whether she is lesbian, straight, bi or celibate but I don't care. She has made me laugh out loud. Society is good at labelling/pigeon holing. It isn't a public service for all slebs to talk about their identity, their orientation or how often they're doing it.

That's nothing - the worst thing she ever did was running through wheat fields....

EachandEveryone · 25/10/2022 22:31

Louis Theroux and the beautiful Stormzy

To add to my earlier list:
(another vote for) George Alagiah
Katie Piper
Eleanor Tomlinson
Blake Harrison
The Dalai Lama

Twonewcats · 26/10/2022 19:44

Bob mortimer

OMGyoucantbeserious · 27/10/2022 18:56

My mate works in TV. Monty Don is a miserable g*t.

SirChenjins · 27/10/2022 21:28

To be fair, he also suffers from depression and is quite open about that.

EachandEveryone · 28/10/2022 16:10

Anna Kendrick she has to be nice like Kylie

OP posts:
Gherkingreen · 28/10/2022 21:46

@EachandEveryone I know someone who was an extra on one of the later Pitch Perfect films and she said neither Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson seemed like nice people at all. Very mean girls vibe.
