Miranda Hart. I totally love her.

Sorry to have to tell you she is a nightmare. Total hypocondriac, everything is all about her and she has not been altogether truthful in the press.

Jellykat · 23/10/2022 19:52

Glad to hear that about Miranda Hart, i dont watch anything with her in, as i cant stand the woman!

Billy Connolly.
Was a regular in our town for many years.
He was always approachable and happy to have photos taken. Had a kind attitude and always had a kind word. A great man.

I remember reading about his childhood and if I'm not getting mixed up it sounded quite horrific! How amazing to be mistreated for so long and yet grow into a good adult.

I met Roy Castle at Lincoln Cathedral when we went on a school trip in the late 70’s. I can confirm he was lovely and signed autographs for 30 school kids, I still have mine.

David Jason?

Some of these suggestions are people clutching at straws😂 Steve Coogan is famously an arsehole I don’t know anyone who’s worked with him who’s had a good word to say about him. Ditto David Jason. Madonna was on my friends flight recently I don’t know if vile is the way to describe her but she spoke to no one and kept her hood up. Had her own chef with her. And her entourage sat further back, I’m glad she wasn’t on a private plane though.

Agree totally EachandEveryone. I think people are naming slebs that they like. I do think Steve Coogan is talented but am under no illusions that I’d want him in my life in any capacity. We can all see how complicated he is.

Similarly Madonna, it’s not her job to be nice. She was fabulous but hoping she’s nice is just missing the point really. I think if she’d been in the same class at school one would have been terrified of her.
But fair enough. She’s a go getter - she seems fairly honest about who she is.

Yep.

And also ne of those people you wonder how they got where they are when much more talented people are overlooked.

I'm so glad to read this, I've always hated her for no good reason apart from not being funny - now I have one.

I've just got on the train from a very small country station... Richard Curtis and his daughter appeared near me on the platform and got on the train.... Didn't want to disturb him so just smiled..

Not been truthful about what?

Movinghouseatlast · 24/10/2022 13:26

I'm not going to say as it's not my place. It was an example. I think people in the public eye are still terrified about fitting the 'norm' because they want a career.

He always comes across very pleasant in interviews.

His body of work is amazing.

Matt Baker he and his family seem so nice.

Prettydress · 24/10/2022 14:37

Ditto Tom Cruise. Who would be under any illusion that he was a nice normal sort of chap? His ex-wives and girlfriend's silence wreaks of NDAs. I think at best he can be described as complicated.

JS makes you wonder about everyone’s motivation for working in children’s broadcasting, unfortunately. Even the women. ☹️

I'd have hoped the world after JS would rightly be more cynical. But not-so-recent, persistent rumours about another 'untouchable' so-called national treasure have put paid to that. If there's even a grain of truth in them then we've learned nothing and these men are still being protected. And I I find this even more unforgivable post- than pre-JS, as we now can't claim we don't have the benefit of hindsight.

That said, I'd lose faith in humanity entirely if anything untoward came out about Tony Hart; likewise, Andy Day. They both seem to have the most benign, inoffensive of personalities.

I love Steve Coogan but he's not one of my ''Which celebrity would you be gutted to find out was vile in real life? though.

Like I said previously Keanu Reeves is definitely mine.

Also, Alan Titchmarsh & Freddie Flintoff.

No, but it's a public forum. I don't quite know what you mean though. The passive aggressive faces don't give me much clue either I'm afraid!

Didn't intend to signify 'passive aggressive', just 'confused', and then 'laughing lightly' at myself and all of us for being so interested in sleb gossip.

What I mean is lots of people have been on here, on a public forum, dishing dirt in some detail. Arguably it's not any of our places, but here we are...

Carol Kirkwood BBC weather presenter was just bubbly and bright when I met her a few Christmas Eve’s ago. Really pleasant and lovely.

CherryRipe1 · 24/10/2022 17:55

Jagger, Keef and Ronnie. I passed by Ronnie Wood once, he was strolling along a road in Notting hill and looked pleasant & open. Didn't get any of those I'm a Rock Star arrogant vibes at all. Be gutted if the Stones were knobheads.
