Judi Dench has a sharp tongue and isn’t the warmest of people 😬

foxlover47 · 20/10/2022 20:04

@evilharpy I think pru lost a few fans when she told about the drowning of baby kittens with her mum
🙈

foxlover47 · 20/10/2022 20:05

@Shortkiwi years back when I was young and more reckless I used to work at Claire Baldings dads racing yard and she regularly rode work with us "staff " she was always really nice and easy to chat to and was just like one of us all

Also oh Romesh Ranganathan is a total bellend. He was before us on a crazy golf course on holiday a few years ago.
He behaved as if he was Stephen fucking Spielberg or something, giving off this “don’t approach me” vibe, when we were walking up to the tee. I mean who does these people think they are? He’s a jobbing “comedian” ffs. Also he clicked into “must behave” mode when his wife started talking to us & DH said “you know L don’t you?” (mutual friend).

He wasn’t having a bad day, we weren’t bothering him, he just has a pathetically over-inflated ego and was behaving miserably just because he could.

It’s almost like a phobia now how quickly I have to turn the tv over if he comes on.

His wife seemed nice though. But downtrodden. She had to run around after the kids & he did fuck all.

Dave Grohl

My OH met him in the toilet at an Awards Ceremony, standing side by side so to speak. Dave Grohl is great and hilarious.

I would just refuse to believe it. Simple as that. Nothing could sully Tony Hart for me.

If I'm ever stressed, I play the "gallery" music in my head till I calm down.

I met his daughter on holiday one year ( her kids were playing with my kids at the holiday club on resort ) and she said she adored her father.

Any of the Strictly professional dancers especially Anton du Beke (yes I know he's a judge now) Johannes and Giovanni.

Also Rosie Marcel (Jac Naylor from Holby city) who come across as lovely on her Instagram account.

And Jodie Comer.

We had dance classes for our wedding and our teachers knew ADB from the ballroom circuit.
they said he was vile, horrible to Erin, dictatorial and very superior.

SilentHedges · 20/10/2022 20:33

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 20/10/2022 20:43

Paul O'Grady

I think he's very well known for not being very pleasant IRL, isn't he? Like his close fellow-Scouse friend, a certain female singer and dating show host.

I know comedians make general funny and obviously made-up/highly exaggerated jokes supposedly at the expense of their families (like Lee Mack: "My wife is currently carrying our third child.... he's 11, the lazy sod!" Grin), but the way Romesh has uncomfortably laboured quite pointed 'jokes' about his kids on several occasions has really left me wondering if they are just good-natured jokes.

WheresTheLambSauce · 20/10/2022 20:44

Kristen Bell, William Jackson Harper and Ted Danson come to mind.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 20/10/2022 20:53

I think we can all think of a very obvious example!

If people hadn't waited until after his death to expose him, a certain corporation may not have survived to see its 100th birthday this week.

They're wanting to bring in a new law now, aren't they, making it a criminal offence not to speak up about child abusers that you know about. If that had been in effect (and properly enforced) whilst this man was alive, I can think of one campaigner for children who may have been in a rather sticky position.

DismantledKing · 20/10/2022 20:59

I think that Tony Hart’s reputation is quite safe; if there was anything in his closet it’d have come out soon after his death.
I’ve heard very unpleasant rumours about David Jason.

Toby Jones. I need to know he's as nice as 'Lance' Grin

Toby Jones is magnificent. He plays Hogarth in A Harlot's Progress, long before he gets famous enough to be in a list films like Hunger Games. If you haven't seen it it's brilliant, superb performances all round.

TheHonourableHonoriaGlossop · 20/10/2022 21:07

@SilentHedges i always imagine Julie Waters would be brilliant fun

The super vet?

I know a couple of people who've spoken to Warwick Davies and both said he was very rude and nasty to them🤭 most people say he's lovely so this always surprises people. The 2 people were both serving him (one in a shop, one dealing with his dilemma over the phone - neither of these people know each other) - maybe he's nicer when he's meeting fans and they both caught him on bad days😦

Or maybe the people serving him saw the real person.

i had the pleasure of looking after Liam Gallagher when he stayed in the hotel I worked in. He was utterly delightful to the staff.

DismantledKing · 20/10/2022 21:18

Quite famously, Britney Spears ‘Toxic’ was written about the Super Vet. By Cathy Dennis, I think?

I've met Liam quite a few times. He's funny, friendly and extremely personable, the polar opposite of what people expect him to be.
