Surprised to see Roger Federer come up a few times. The guy that, if he loses, always has some reason - off day, small injury, etc, etc - never as simple as ‘the other player was just better’. Doesn’t make him bad, but not a name I’d deem worthy of a thread like this.

Can confirm that Ken Bruce is lovely. Alex Jones was not.

Stephen Fry is someone who I have always liked but never met.

So glad Ken is nice, I'd have been so disappointed if he had been awful.

Oh no can I ask what happened?

It's a very very long time ago.
He was filming near where I lived at the time. So a fair few of us locals went down celeb spotting. Spotted him, yelled something like hiya mate, can we have an autograph? He stormed over to us, swore a lot, told us all to fuck off, wagged his finger in my face, said something like you too bitch, off you fuck. And then went and got security to move the barrier.
It was the talk of the area for weeks. He did the same to anyone, not just us, so I didn't take it personally, but up to that point no one had called me a bitch to my face. Most people were stunned he could be that rude, so lots went down over the next week and all got similar response.

Just remembered I think it was touch of frost he was filming, dont recall the exact year.

Sorry, I really liked him before that incident, now I wouldnt spit on him if he was on fire.

I've also noticed this about RF - he never credits his opponent if he loses. I feel he can cone across as smug....I think Rafael Nadal comes across as a better sport .... although obvs they are both amazing players

What is the reason for waiting until someone's dead before revealing the truth about them? I can't think of a reason apart from not wanting to be sued and I assume that there must be evidence and a slander/libel lawsuit would therefore fail.

I think the issue is that a lot of the very bad people don't operate alone, but are involved in 'rings' or have other connections. Anybody who blows the gaff on them and is in any way implicated/has any dirt or skeletons themselves can expect the accused person to crap the bed and take them down with them.

Once they're dead, they obviously can't answer to the accusations against them, as is frequently pointed out; but they also can't spill the beans on anybody else.

@ohfook ah yes I'd love to think he's a lovely guy in real life

I have a woman crush on Alex Kingston and hope she is as lovely in real life as she comes across

it’s classic. Imagine you have a bad experience with someone- now they’re the one with power. Millions of fans, money to hire lawyers etc.

are you the one to put your head above the parapet and say hang on, this much loved person is an awful person, and risk the pile on, possible legal action? Do you actually think anyone will believe you?

so you wait until they’re dead to tell your story when they can’t hurt you.

@JustDanceAddict I've met Clive through work and he was absolutely delightful, charming, down to earth, helpful and lovely. We had some elderly guests at the event he attended and he was a complete darling with them.

I think we can all think of a very obvious example!
