David Attenborough

TeddyTed · 20/10/2022 13:19

Definitely Richard Osman and Anton du Beke, also Aljaz from Strictly (as was). Not sure if I’ve seen it in the thread already but I’d also be disappointed if Greg James wasn’t an all round good guy.

Am waiting for the horror stories now!

Can confirm David Attenborough is lovely. I've worked with him and several friends have too. All said the same thing. It's a bit like working with god.

Lots of 'celebrities' make loads of demands on their rider. Ridiculous shit. (My favourite was the actress who insisted the ice cubes be made from a specific brand of water)

David Attenborough didnt ask for anything. Even when I was like we're getting you lunch. You can have literally anything! He just asked for a sandwich.

He took the time to chat to me about stuff. He's so knowledgeable. But also keen to share that knowledge. Honestly one of the best jobs of my life.

Am so glad to read this …my son absolutely hero worships David Attenborough and he is the reason my son is an ecologist.

@11000yellowdaisies my DH bumped into Michael Palin once and he was exactly as you'd imagine. Very warm, pleasant and funny.

Parents saw Lenny Henry after he'd done a comedy show in a pub in London - not very friendly at all.

Witnessed Richard Ayaode and his wife being denied a table in local restaurant before lockdown - he was lovely - I was trying to tell the owners of the restaurant who he was.

@BrightYellowDaffodil am genuinely gutted Sad

RobertsRadio · 20/10/2022 13:21

Gromit, I won't hear a word against him.

Wallace, on the other hand, wouldn't be surprised to hear he can be a git in real life.

Slash (been offered to meet him twice and kindly declined because then my obsession would be busted if he didn’t reciprocate the undying love and because I’d probably shit my pants and make a smelly fool of myself)

Sandi Toksvig

Rylan

Daisy May Cooper (I just love her!!!)

Sir David Attenborough

Why? Just because someone's been on TV doesn't mean they should be pandered to and given someone else's table in a restaurant.

But it's good to hear that RM didn't seem to expect it (or at least that's what I gleaned from your post).

AnybodyAnywhere · 20/10/2022 13:49

Not quite on topic but DH does quite a lot of Close Protection work and I asked him who the nicest celeb was that he’d worked with. He says that when he took the job he wasn’t keen and was sure he’d find the person annoying at least…he wasn’t, he was, to quote my DH, a 100% genuinely nice bloke. Joey Essex.
