Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash..I love them

I saw Joe Swash recently on the hit list and I thought he seemed quite unpleasant and that was in front of cameras

Supermomnot22 · 20/10/2022 13:52

Mary Berry

James Martin. I couldn’t bear it

Sorry, but he's an arrogant arsehole. It's well documented on the 'have you met a celeb' threads. Met him at one of those food and drink shows- sooooo arrogant. He thought he was the absolute bollocks, treating fans and staff alike with disdain (I wasnt a fan, my sister was- she is no more).

This was backed up by a worker at the Lakeland shop who said that Mary Berry (the other celeb chef) had been.just lovely all weekend, yet she wouldn't 'throw a glass of water over Mr Rude if he was on fire'.

Samuel West CANNOT be anything other than lovely and delightful. I refuse to countenance it. He's a joy on Twitter and he IS a joy in real life, I just know it.

I follow Sam on twitter and he is wonderful. During the pandemic he asked people to say what their favourite poems were, and every day he recorded one on Soundcloud and dedicated it to the person who'd requested it.
He recorded one for me, it was quite a lengthy one, and l saved the recording. That was so kind and lovely of him.

In 2018 ds2 and his choir were performing at a WW1 remembrance concert... He is profoundly deaf and autistic... After the concert he messaged me to say he was with a famous actor... I had just taken my head out of the oven with dinner and resembled a house brick.... I asked him who it was and he said Samuel West... I replied that I had seen him in the West End on stage a few years ago... The next thing I knew I was chatting with Samuel via video call... He was absolutely charming and very interested that ds2 was named after a WW1 poet... We chatted a bit more later that evening on Twitter. A proper gentleman...

Can confirm that Ken Bruce is lovely. Alex Jones was not.

Stephen Fry is someone who I have always liked but never met.

OdeToOceans · 20/10/2022 13:57

@GretaGip I've met David Attenborough a few times and can confirm he is lovely.

Slash (been offered to meet him twice and kindly declined because then my obsession would be busted if he didn’t reciprocate the undying love and because I’d probably shit my pants and make a smelly fool of myself)

Sandi Toksvig

Rylan

Daisy May Cooper (I just love her!!!)

Sir David Attenborough

My DH has met Slash a few times and says he’s lovely but stinks so if you did have an accident no one would notice 😄

Sick and tired of people slagging David Jason off. His mum in law is good friends with my partner's mum and she knows David and his wife well.

Wow, she must have good genes! Unless his wife is significantly younger than he is.

Twenty years younger.

Floogal · 20/10/2022 13:59

Jarvis Cocker. Though everyone I know who's met him say he was very nice

Also Shaun Ryder and Bez. Very likeable

Crinkle77 · 20/10/2022 13:59

That's so nice to hear. I had a very pleasant encounter with Samuel West's parents once (Prunella Scales and Timothy West). We were just chatting generally but she overheard that I was about to be playing a role in a play that she'd played herself years before. She took the time to have a good talk about the part and the play and they were both very kind and encouraging. I'd recently just seen Samuel in the title role in an RSC production of Richard II and they were also keen to talk about that and what I thought of it. They really didn't have to speak to me at all, but were lovely with their time and encouragement.

Richard Ayoade
Bob Mortimer
Harry Hill
Lucy Porter
Jilly Cooper
Miriam Margolyes

My brother in law ‘stumbled’ on Richard Ayoade a few years ago as he was filming near a London landmark. Bil hadn’t realised this was a ‘film set’ and approached Richard for his autograph.
Apparently he couldn’t have been more charming; explained he was filming but asked my bil to wait as this was nearly finished. True to his word my bil then got his autograph, and a photo with Richard.

Youredaft · 20/10/2022 14:03

@ClaireEclair Shurrup!!! 😆 What did he smell of?!?! Nothing rocks our love.. not even his smell! 😂

Good!

I love Richard Ayoade.

GrouchyKiwi · 20/10/2022 14:06

Hamza Yassin. He is the sweetest on Strictly and I'd be so upset if he wasn't really like that.

Ditto Natalie Lowe.

Sam Neill

Cate Blanchett

I've met him and he was delightful. I also saw him shopping in Mothercare with his wife years ago, and he was so lovely to her/ smiley/ interested in what they were buying.

Oh, Thank heavens.

I don't think I could have borne the disappointment.

Trishalex1962 · 20/10/2022 14:16

I met David Jason in the early 80s, he used to drink at the One Tun in Mortimer Street. He was very nice and friendly. Could have possibly changed in the interim.
