Did my shopping today and Aldi. As usual, I had to go to the other supermarket next door to

Better coffee. Lidl is much better.

BookHermitBlack · 16/10/2022 18:52

Gluten free foods.

gluten free bread

This this this. Aldi actually has a great gf range; but so few stores stock it!

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 16/10/2022 18:52

Gluten free bread, they do fuck all except for their special event twice a year. Cos people only have coeliac disease in May and February 🙄

To…?!

I wish they sold red bush vanilla tea bags as it’s the only tea I drink (but I realise it’s a pretty niche market) and heat protector spray. Probably loads more but they’re the 2 that I always have to go elsewhere for.

W@SirChenjins

what's 'heat protector spray'??

MooseAndSquirrelLoveFlannel · 16/10/2022 18:53

Decent quality toilet rolls and not just strong smelling rolls with a massive tube through the middle making them seem normal size rolls at first glance.

Shouldbedoing · 16/10/2022 18:55

Branded catfood. I'm not fussy, but my moggies are.

SomethingNastyInTheBallPool · 16/10/2022 18:56

Dishwasher rinse aid
Tofu
Fresh oat milk as well as the UHT stuff
Packaging-free fruit and veg

BewareTheBeardedDragon · 16/10/2022 18:56

@mrsjimhopper ooh, I hope mine has them again!

Medoca · 16/10/2022 18:56

Yes capers!! They were so reasonable when they stocked them. Also marinated anchovies, cote de boeuf (or any other steak on the bone), burrata, bread flour, Nduja, frozen roasted Mediterranean veg, frozen chopped garlic.

DurhamDurham · 16/10/2022 18:57

I'm mourning their chilli jam, haven't seen it for weeks.

Wish they sold decent coffee (instant for when I'm in a hurry on a morning, like Illy or Lavazza)

SecretVictoria · 16/10/2022 18:58

Full sugar drinks. I can’t tolerate sweeteners and both Aldi/Lidl only have squashes/cordials with sweeteners.

Bring back the Glow Recipe dupes they did, why do they only do these as a one-off when skincare is something that’s bought consistently?

I also wish they would do copies of Jordan’s Raspberry Crisp cereal (they do strawberry, but not raspberry) and Kellogg’s frosted wheats.

megletthesecond · 16/10/2022 19:00

single veg
Gluten free food

I top up on dry goods at aldi and lidl but the bulk of our food has to be sainsburys.

Comedycook · 16/10/2022 19:00

Frozen pizza dough. My DD uses it a lot as she likes to make her own pizzas. I get it from Sainsbury's.

bananainpjs · 16/10/2022 19:00

Cous cous

Comedycook · 16/10/2022 19:01

And fine egg noodles...they sell the thicker ones in Aldi but I prefer the thinner ones.

Bookaholic73 · 16/10/2022 19:02

Robinsons Lime & Mint cordial.
Tofu
More loose fruit & veg

PeloFondo · 16/10/2022 19:03

Ours has baked crisps! Also the sunbite copies are good and the hummus bites

ViscountessBridgerton · 16/10/2022 19:04

Risotto rice and cous cous

thefiddlerselbow · 16/10/2022 19:04

More squash flavours
Curry paste
A bigger selection of pasta

I do think it's getting better but sometimes it's weeks before I find something that I've heard they sell, like the rosemary and red onion sausages.

vera99 · 16/10/2022 19:09

Their 00 Pizza flour they had it for a short time at 85p a kilo and it was one of the best I've used. Oh and pitted olives rarely have them whereas Lidl is always good on the tapas-type stuff.
