Hi everyone,

I love reading these so thought I'd start one. What's happening in your home today/this evening?

We've had a relaxing day for the most part. DH is taking an exam for work in a few weeks so he's been studying on and off. This morning while he studied a little, I got out the playdoh with ds (2), then we had lunch, went for a walk and to the shop all together. This afternoon we've had some telly time while DH studied again, and I'm making a tuna and sweetcorn pasta bake for dinner. DH will have dinner with us and we'll do bedtime together for DS, DH will return to the books whilst I watch a movie and eat a tub of popcorn from the cinema next door. Just a very relaxed day! I'm also 24 weeks pregnant and particularly exhausted today so it's just what I needed ☺️

We've had a great day .
Dd worked this morning, then did school work and now in the gym .
Dh and I did bits round the house that have needed doing for ages then had a lovely sunny walk together and a cheeky drink in the local pub and sat in the garden deciding on where to go for our significant wedding anniversary next summer.
Dh now watching sports and I'm watching Harry Potter no 1 .
All agreed on a Chinese for dinner too so no cooking !

Muchtoomuchtodo · 15/10/2022 17:58

We’re having friends round for a Chinese.
They’ll bring whatever they fancy to drink and we’ll split the cost of the food.
A good way to catch up and way cheaper than going out.

A dull but actually quite enjoyable day of swimming lessons with DS, Aldi shop, cleaning the house and a walk along the harbour and play in the park. We are having pies for dinner and then I might watch a film tonight after I've put DS to bed. My parents were supposed to come round for dinner but my dad isn't well (covid) so a rain check on that.

Usual drudge.

Then sitting in my bedroom thinking yet again that there must be more to life and wondering if it is possible to really truly disappear.

Too many responsibilities.

Ha ha sounds about right!

Redruby2020 · 15/10/2022 18:09

Had a lie in as DC at father's as usual at the weekend. Did some washing/sorted other laundry, but of housework, more lounging lol. About to make bed lol as it needed completely stripping.
Going to then have a nice shower and hair wash. Was in between whether to do something this eve but thinking to do next weekend. A whole week of rushing around and out each day, it is lovely to have a Saturday in!

caringcarer · 15/10/2022 18:22

Having toad in the hole as D's favourite and a bottle of Frascatti for us.

Always4Brenner · 15/10/2022 18:25

Oh Ipad till eight if ex father in law phones then I’ll decamp to bedroom talking books for rest of the night all dvds packed away tv is shit Saturday night.

Shutupyoutart · 15/10/2022 18:34

Just finished making dinner we had pancakes as it's ds fave and hes so fussy with food, finished it all which is rare for him :) been doing baking with the kids and watching some Halloween movies we were planning on going to the park to collect conkers but it hasn't stopped raining all day. Dh is at work til 12pm so when little ones go to bed I plan to have a nice bath and watch Netflix just me and the ddog.

toastfiend · 15/10/2022 18:39

Not much!

DH is away with work so DS and I have done the yard chores, been to the farm, then spent the afternoon walking the dogs (well, DS rode a pony, I walked!) and doing a food shop. We're having a living room picnic in front of a movie right now. I'll put DS to bed soon and then will enjoy a glass of red and catch up on Doc Martin. I miss DH a lot when he's away but I do really enjoy the 1-1 time with DS.

Early night with a hot chocolate for me tonight. We're about to move house and the last few weeks have been really stressful and I've not been sleeping well. I probably ought to carry on with the packing but I can't face it today.

Mulled wine and mince pies

willowtree66 · 15/10/2022 18:42

Just arrived at ambo station for 12 hour shift.

Ohnoohdear · 15/10/2022 18:44

My wedding dress arrived today (getting married on the 12th Nov) so I’ll be swanning around the house with that on for the most part! And need to cook dinner and do some drawing, will probably change back into lounge wear for that though, maybe.. haven’t decided yet..

I wish I’d be doing this tonight!! I’ve missed mince pies so much.

Woolandwonder · 15/10/2022 18:45

Under a heated blanket about to watch some first dates hotel whilst eating spaghetti bolognese. Super tired today so have been v unproductive all day, planning on a very early night and hoping to feel a bit better tomorrow so I can go on a little autumy walk.

Ragwort · 15/10/2022 18:48

I work all day Saturdays so I like to have a quiet evening ... made a bolognese yesterday so easy dinner of spag Bol ... DH has a Zoom call planned with his friend in the States so that will last all night, looking forward to lazing on the sofa with TV of my choice ... although just went to pour myself a glass of wine from a rather nice bottle I bought yesterday and only half a glass left 😡. Fortunately I have 'reserves' but not this particularly nice one.
Have also just prepped a Beef in Red Wine casserole for our guests tomorrow evening.

I love these threads too! The wave of light sounds like a lovely way to remember babies we have lost. I had a miscarriage early in my marriage & buried what had formed of our precious little one in my parents’ garden ( DH was away on a course & they were absolutely brilliant- I will never forget that). Sadly they no longer live in that house but our baby is always in our hearts. I haven’t cried about it for a while but I am now. I had what I thought was a 2nd miscarriage a few years afterwards but if it was one it was very early & there was nothing to “ keep” if that’s the right word. Sending love to everyone that’s suffered a loss ❤️

BCBird · 15/10/2022 18:48

Nowt. Probably do work ironin- Rock and roll here🤪got a new book to read and some Frazzles to chow down on.

Kim82 · 15/10/2022 18:51

We’ve had a pretty relaxed day today. We had McDonald’s for lunch then I took 2 of the dc to visit my sister for an hour. Got home at 2.30ish, dh went to his grandmas and I cleaned the house. Youngest has had dinner at her friend’s house and we’ve just had bake at home rolls and soup as it’s chilly today.

Both of the older dds are at parties this evening so once the little one is in bed dh and I will watch a film. I’ll be picking up dd1 as she’ll want to come home around 9.30pm (even though she’s 18 she doesn’t drink and really isn’t a party person) and it means I can get an early night as I didn’t sleep well last night. Dh will stay up and collect dd2 and her two friends at around 11pm and will bring them all back to ours for the night.

It all sounds very dull and domestic. If it helps me sound more interesting I had a dominoes and a bottle of wine to myself with my other sister and a friend last night…😂

Devo1818 · 15/10/2022 18:51

DH is putting DC to bed. I'm making tomato soup with cheese toasties for our dinner. Got a glass of wine on the go. Looking forward to an evening on the sofa - it has been an intense week at work for both of us!

windowwhy · 15/10/2022 18:51

We've got a chippy on its way and me, DH, DSD and Dsausage dogs are all cuddled on the sofa with the good blankets out. No wine as we've been off for a long weekend and have gone heavy the last few nights and were out again tomorrow, but beginning to regret that decision and could see a trip for some wine being made. Going to play some games later too

MonkeyPuddle · 15/10/2022 15:42

We’ve had a quiet day.
DP got up with DD and let me have a lie in, he woke me up with a cup of coffee and a sausage buttie.
went to the park, had a row in the car on the way there. We’re both tired and stressed but the row was actually quite a good one, as they go. We both listened and aired things that needed airing.
home for lunch, watching the first game of the RL World Cup on bbc.
Im off to work tonight so will be making tea shortly, pork and veg in sweet and sour sauce.

@MonkeyPuddle how do you end up having a row with a man that gets up with the toddler and later brings you a buttie & coffee in bed??

Are you looking at rehoming him & the toddler??

im glad it was a 'good' row & you cleared the air!!

MurderOfBirds · 15/10/2022 18:53

Almost home from over a week away (bereavement/funeral sadly) and have a newly inherited cat in a carrier in the car next to me. Have pre-ordered a Chinese takeaway as I doubt there's much food in the house.

So when we get in we'll be eating that, starting to unpack and hoping we can settle the cat.

AlwaysFoldingWashing · 15/10/2022 18:55

Husband is at his friends, baby is sleeping so I'm eating snacks an lad going to watch last nights gogglebox, masked dancer and strictly Smile

MrsElm · 15/10/2022 18:55

Watching Strictly here!

Whitepouringglue · 15/10/2022 18:56

We're sick and trying to find a gripping new drama series to distract us from the aches and pains. Ideas welcome.
