Hi everyone,

I love reading these so thought I'd start one. What's happening in your home today/this evening?

We've had a relaxing day for the most part. DH is taking an exam for work in a few weeks so he's been studying on and off. This morning while he studied a little, I got out the playdoh with ds (2), then we had lunch, went for a walk and to the shop all together. This afternoon we've had some telly time while DH studied again, and I'm making a tuna and sweetcorn pasta bake for dinner. DH will have dinner with us and we'll do bedtime together for DS, DH will return to the books whilst I watch a movie and eat a tub of popcorn from the cinema next door. Just a very relaxed day! I'm also 24 weeks pregnant and particularly exhausted today so it's just what I needed ☺️

We have had a really relaxing day. Ds2 ended up getting taken to a kids show unexpectedly by his best friends mum so is delighted. Youngest is unwell and dh isn’t feeling great. We had planned to go out but couldn’t with the youngest being unwell. Eldest is building his Lego. We have all cuddled up lots today. I might take them to see a great Halloween house nearby tonight but that’s it.

Fluxcapacitator · 15/10/2022 16:27

Coughing on the sofa with covid. Missing a party.

PermanentTemporary · 15/10/2022 16:30

Just home with a few things from the garden centre - VERY unusual for me. I'm going to plant them now as otherwise based on previous experience I'll find them dried out in the corner in a month. Then NOTHING - going to roast some kale, drink some wine and find something podcasty/radio documentary to listen to.

It's been a nice day. Although I tend to get listless. No swimming today as my boys have been poorly.
Ds1 is better. Ds2 now has a fever.
So I've done not much.
Just cooking meatballs and I'll try to put the boys to bed early and chill.
I'm on my own this weekend and won't go out with feverish kids. All plans cancelled

Quiet day here, recovering after a busy week. Pottered into town this morning, after doing some work, to pick up bits from the greengrocer, bakery, and a nice coffee to have in a public garden (in the rain). DH is upstairs now listening to music and reading whilst I watch Sleepy Hollow (and doss around here).

A rare roast chicken dinner tonight (only 2 of us, and roasts always seem a lot of effort for just 2), which I'm looking forward to after a few weeks of not eating well enough (though wish someone else was cooking it).

It was a nice day first thing, but now rainy, gloomy and windy. I should do some more work, but hibernation mode feels more appropriate right now.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 15/10/2022 16:47

Youngest is coming round with some friends for drinks. We'll see them for a bit then DP and I are going out. We'll probably be home and ready for bed by about the time the 'kids' are getting ready to go clubbing!

Julia234 · 15/10/2022 16:49

Went out with friends last night and had a few drinks, so not feeling my best today.

We have relaxed today, husband took 2 year old to soft play but came back after an hour because DS wanted to come back home and continue lounging!

Husband is about to cook a lovely dinner and then I am going to attempt to muster the strength to go to Tesco later on with the teenager.

InFiveMins · 15/10/2022 16:57

We will be having quite a chilled night here. I'll be making something for dinner shortly, and we'll settle down with a few glasses of wine and watch Strictly later.

Oldraver · 15/10/2022 17:00

I had been hoping to go out in Brighton as my two favourite dj's are playing together for the first time in ages

I was ready for the tortuous journey with multiple trains but it was the thought of two friggin hours just to get to Oxford that kiboshed it for me

ReginaPerrin · 15/10/2022 17:03

DP and I are trying to lose weight so we’re avoiding pubs and restaurants at the moment, and even avoiding nights with friends as that usually involves booze and snacks. So we’ll probably watch a film or have a disco in the living room, or both!

Doowop1919 · 15/10/2022 17:07

Lovely to read through all your replies. Sorry I can't reply to everyone individually but sorry to hear some of you aren't feeling great tonight or dealing with ill children.

I hope everyone else enjoys their nights in or nights out! It's wind down here now for DS then it'll be bed soon!

Try to find a film all the kids can agree on then mums taxi at 11.30 picking dd16 up from a party

MysweetAudrina · 15/10/2022 17:09

Just chilling, busy week at work and busy today with football matches, cleaning and shopping. Some salmon, prawns, crusty bread and filled pasta for dinner and trying to get energy up to bring the dogs out for a walk.

Funkyslippers · 15/10/2022 17:15

DD has 2 friends coming round for a sleepover tonight. They're currently in town but should be back soon. OH and I will probably pop out for a drink then I have some Tesco Finest beef and ale pies which I'll serve with mash, veg and gravy together with some wine. Will probably start a new series, maybe Dahmer, then head to bed and hope the girls keep the noise down a bit 😊

HoofWankingSpangleCunt · 15/10/2022 17:19

DS 14 is going to his first teen party tonight. Well, it’s pretty much his first party as he has ASD and was usually left off invite lists.
He’s a sensible lad so not overly worried but I do hope he has a nice time.
I’ll be at home watching German tv series on Netflix and eyeing up
the Christmas lebkuchen I’ve stupidly already bought 😂

cultkid · 15/10/2022 17:21

Had a lazy morning. My eldest was really hard work and I felt a bit low by it, so I didn't go out to the forest like we planned
My husband made us burgers for lunch and then I took my middle child for a blood test and I feel really sad about it because he said I lied to him and he believed me. Just sitting in the garden having a guilty vape during golden hour whilst the baby naps and then we are having an Indian takeaway tonight.
Our anniversary is on Monday so I've booked for a lunch out without the kids tomorrow at a really lovely restaurant where they make the roast on a wood fire. Beautiful views of the sea, too. I got my husband a ring for a rare gift because he lost his wedding ring when we first married. I don't work so I sold a handbag to buy it and I feel a bit shy and proud at the same time. Got some really great help from Mumsnet on that, actually.
Thinking I am going to give it to him tomorrow morning and the card, too before we go for lunch.Thinking about what to write in his card, feeling a bit emotional and proud at all we have overcome.

Love these threads because it's heartwarming and comforting to see that normal days without anything large on, are just that, really, very normal. It's easy to get carried away with thoughts that everyone's doing something incredible and my life is boring when I look on instagram.

I will also be lighting a candle at 7pm, for the wave of light. Holding all those families very close to my heart this evening as I think of your losses. My love to you all xx

warofthemonstertrucks · 15/10/2022 17:22

Had a lovely day-went to Hatton Garden to buy our wedding rings for our forthcoming secret wedding. Had delicious pizza at Franco Manca. Home to pick up alot of cheese and wine plus notes from our local cheese shop-then a quick tidy round the house as we are having 4 friends over for the cheese and wine later.

I'm about to mix the welcome cocktails. I've lost the recipe but I bought apple syrup, blackberry syrup and cassis and it also had gin so I'm doing some experimental ones first

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 15/10/2022 17:25

I also love these threads for the normalcy

Partyofthree · 15/10/2022 17:29

Off on first hols since 2019!! Out early doors tomorrow, finished packing. Just cooking spaghetti carbonara for dinner. Will watch some telly then early bedtime!

Poweredbyteaandcake · 15/10/2022 17:31

A chilled evening here... whole day has been pretty chilled actually! Quiet morning with 3mo baby, had pain au chocolats for breakfast, lots of cuddles and feeds and had a lovely long shower - even managed to shave my legs! Headed out after lunch to collect things I'd bought for baby on gumtree then a lovely long pram walk when the rain stopped. Plans for this evening are, watching Strictly and sorting the house out. DP will be making us a stir fry for dinner and we have cheesecake for pud 😋 then early to bed so I can cope with the night feeds!

Lndnmummy · 15/10/2022 17:33

Beyond chilled in our house today. All exhausted from a very busy week. Went to the park with my youngest while dh took ds1 to his sports, they then did weekly shop. A friend I haven't seen for ages popped around and I swallowed my pride and asked her in despite my house being a mess. Making burgers for the boys dinner and dh is heading out to the gym. We will have lasagna when he gets backed (Ready made) with some wine and watch a film. No doubt I will fall asleep as soon as I cuddle up into his arms on the sofa. Its like taking a sleeping pill. In a good way.

ThisShipIsSinking · 15/10/2022 17:36

Worked until lunchtime , did a shop, came home played and pottered in garden for an hour or so with my three young kittens , weather mild and sunny, my two older sons happily doing their own things, hung aload of washing out, eaten some nice snacks, relaxing now, will have a shower and just relax this eve as early start again tomorrow, l have time off in the week which l prefer.

Speakingofdinosaurs · 15/10/2022 17:42

I’ve been working on making gifts for a craft fair I’m doing in November.
I love fairy things so I’ve been making some ‘Fairy Journals’ to sell.

What are you all up to this evening?
KangFang · 15/10/2022 17:51

I'm in North Africa. On my way back after a day in the Sahara. Weather has cooled in recent weeks but it was still hot. Traffic back to the city is quite bad. Won't be home till late. I'm full of sand. Early get up for work tomorrow. Sigh.

Angelofthenortheast · 15/10/2022 17:51

Heading out to pick up some mcdonalds!
