TeaMeBasil · 14/10/2022 22:41

For cosy comfort tv:

Golden girls
Firefly
The Orville
Ted Lasso
Bobs Burgers

Top two get broken out in case of emergency for Awful Days.

TeaMeBasil · 14/10/2022 22:44

To be fair, Downton does also have that Sunday night comfort factor as well as being good tv.

The others are just more soothing.

Oh and Jam and Jerusalem if you could find it anywhere!!

Trinity65 · 14/10/2022 22:50

Call the Midwife
Doc Martin

Long Lost Family
DNA Journey

Wheredoallthepensgo · 14/10/2022 22:53

Repair Shop is brilliant, just brilliant.

Dinner Ladies - Victoria Wood - always funny and has a slight melancholic/wistful air sometimes that's very comforting in an odd way.

Richard Osman's House of Games signals that work is done and it's time to sit down for tea so that's relaxing in itself.

I also like watching the reruns of Top of the Pops from the 80s and 90s as the music brings back great memories of my younger wilder days.

asdadult · 14/10/2022 22:58

Marple with Joan Hickson

Aurora teagarden mysteries

Chesapeake shores
Murder She Wrote

Middle America old fashioned gentle programmes and movies.

Panauchocolat25 · 15/10/2022 00:41

Friends - I've seen it so many times it's so nostalgic I find it so relaxing and reminds me of when I was a teenager with no worries in the world. I always watch it when ill or stressed.
Or something historical with people talking like time team! There's so many episodes that are exactly the same, the repetition is familiar and comforting.
