What’s for Sunday dinner?

Or lunch if you have your main meal on Sundays at lunchtime?
We usually have a roast as everyone likes it. Today Dh is fancying a stew but the dc won’t like it, and I’m fancying a pie but again dc wont like it! Not after a debate on the fussiness of the dc, just being nosey about what everyone else is having…

Roast chicken, roast potatoes, roast parsnips and 8 other veg, with lots of quite thick gravy.

The chicken will then be another meal cold with all the roast bits leftover reheated with fresh steamed veggies. Then the remaining chicken will be in a cream sauce with pasta or in sandwiches.

3 of us to feed but I’m not a magician, I cooked 2 chickens!

Chinese pancakes, cucumber, hoisin with salt and chilli ‘chicken’

Wetherspoons - steak and chips for me, with amble crumble for pudding. DS(8) had fish and chips, with fudge cake for pudding.

Poached whole chicken in aromatics. Cannellini beans cooked in mirepoix and chicken stock finished with parmesan and parsley. Shredding the chicken and serving on top of the beans with a crispy leek garnish. Leftover chicken will b a curry or nasai goreng tomorrow. Poached chicken yields loads of rich stock to be frozen for risotto chicken noodle soup etc. The chicken is not a looker when poached but tender and juicy.

Have been painting fences today and am knackered. Can’t be bothered to throw anything together, so I’m phoning out for a rare Domino’s!

Asparagus and Pea risotto followed by Apple and Blackberry crumble.

DH normally cooks on Sundays as I'm working all day. Tonight it's fish risotto. The usual options are fish risotto, veggie chilli, a pasta dish or fish and chips from freezer - all of which I'm grateful for as my feet and ankles kill after eight hours stood up. If I particularly requested a roast he'd do it, but if I'm honest I prefer roast potatoes the way I do them!

Good for you @Furries - well deserved. We’ve had such a lazy day, looking forward to my dinner now, it’s smelling good and I’m bloody hungry now after reading through your meals!
I’ve got spicy butternut squash soup for lunches for the next couple of days, dh made it today, I was planning on making a cauliflower cheese soup as we have so much cheese.

Delia’s braised pork with apples and cider. And sprouts.

I bloody love sprouts. Could happily have just a bowl of sprouts with lovely thick gravy 😋
