I just love a ring thread!
My DP and I got married last month, and I'm waiting for my wedding ring to come back from the jewellers as it was a little too big.

Whilst I'm waiting (and missing it!!) I'd love to see yours!

Top is engagement ring, which was actually my DHs mother's engagement ring. Bottom is my wedding ring, I wanted something to basically "match" my engagement ring.
I wouldn't have particularly picked gold as I prefer silver but... I love my rings!! 😍🥰
I'll be starting my new job soon which will not allow me to wear both of these rings due to infection control, so this may mean a trip away somewhere to find a new work ring 🤔😍

I got married a month ago and I'm afraid I'm a bit boring and went for a plain white gold wedding band. Simple, just like me! :-p

Love my engagement ring though, my husband chose well

May I recommend that those of you who still have youth on your side, look after your hands. I still love my 32 year old rings (eternity a little younger). I can't say the same for my hands!

my engagement ring was a small second ring that cost my DH 20pounds. This was
nearly 30 years ago and as we were both only 15 it was so so expensive. I had to hide it from my parents then told them when I was 16. We got married at 19 with a very cheap band each and this sits with my engagement ring in my Jewellery box. When we had our first Dc my DH bought me a new engagement ring and on our third DC we both got new wedding rings.
So although I wear my new rings my other two that sit in my little box are so so special to me. Much more special than the ones I wear.

@Highfivemum how lovely your relationship has endured so far beyond your youth. That's heartwarming.

He was an abusive arsehole, left me holding the baby, but he did buy me a pretty ring. Dug it out to putting the shopping away on the back of this thread.

Any suggestions as to what to do with it??!

@geraniumthefirst maybe have the side diamonds made into earrings and the large central one into a pendant, use the tiny ones to encircle either the pendant, or earrings if there's enough?

My wedding ring was lovely, I chose it.
My husband was thrown out after 6 years when I found him in bed with another woman. Our house was in mid renovation , old fireplaces taken out, huge holes in the floors where the hearths were. ZERO money so ended up mixing concrete myself. Hands and knees, smoothing concrete, Idea struck and plunged it in!

Imagine archaeologists in hundreds of years time waxing lyrical about the tradition of @burying treasured objects in hearth stones.

Engagement ring! Hated it but made all the right noises. (graftons cataloge circa 1980) forward to nieces wedding 20 years later, no money but "gifted" her my engagement ring in lieu of something from her wedding list. You would think i had given her a gold ingot ! I dont think i will tell her THAT story. It would spoil it for her.

Favorite ring.....mums (shes still with us) but gave it to me for my 50th. Tiny little non precious gem 5 stone ring, dad had it inscribed "love you" . Means more to me than anything!

I don’t wear mine at the moment as they’re too tight and need making bigger. Otherwise they get stuck on my finger and I just can’t remove them.
