I just love a ring thread!
My DP and I got married last month, and I'm waiting for my wedding ring to come back from the jewellers as it was a little too big.

Whilst I'm waiting (and missing it!!) I'd love to see yours!

My engagement ring is from the 1920s and wedding ring a modern one but I like how they fit together.

I prefer delicate things if that's not obvious. I feel like larger or chunky ones looks out of place on my fingers and I'm bad enough at catching these on things because I'm clumsy as anything.

I also wear my late MIL's eternity ring on my right hand.

Oh gosh, that looks near identical to my great granny’s engagement ring.

The emerald is my original engagement ring, and I really love it, but I have chipped it twice, so got the ruby one as a kind of eternity; upgrade for every day wear.

Here’s mine, due for a good soak in gin. Wedding ring had leaves around it but they are long gone, faded with age like me.

Here are mine - vintage engagement ring, wedding ring was my great grandmother's, half eternity hopefully being replaced with a slimmer version at some point!

Sparky’sDream, love the 2 rub-over rings with ruby and emerald stones and shapes you don’t get so much these days. Lovely!

Before I was married I had several rings I swapped around and wore. Since I’ve been married I only wear my wedding and engagement rings. (don’t have an eternity ring and my small hands probably couldn’t cope with one, without it reaching my knuckle) Do others wear other rings too - either on other hand or same hand as wedding/engagement rings?

Tiddlywinkly · 07/10/2022 19:16

I don't tend to wear my engagement ring.
I love both, but I wanted my wedding ring to be simple, platinum and Tiffany. 😀

There's a fascinating range of rings on here. I love seeing them!

I love these rings. I'm a ring magpie have collected for over 40 years. Rarely new my engagement ring was Preloved. I've had a lot of fun finding them. Now I have grand daughters will enjoy hunting for them.

Just wondering if you would be open to adopting a 47 year old woman?

I chose mine so I still love it but I wear neither as they’re too big following weight loss. My wedding ring cost a whopping $80 and was supposed to be temporary, but it’s been nine years, so…

Loving this thread, have a few nice rings myself, (neither married nor engaged except to life) but having gone through the aforegoing, I see a few that I would have chosen at different points in my life. So many beautiful and unique rings, and unbelievable variety - fascinating.

Thingsthatgo · 07/10/2022 19:30

@NarniaPrimrose find a local jewellers with a workshop that has a good reputation (maybe check online reviews or ask for recommendations). Then, when you go in, check that they will do all the work there, rather than send it away.
Although people worry about jewellers swapping out stones it is extremely rare; a jewellers reputation is worth so much more than a gemstone.

RuthW · 07/10/2022 19:33

I'm not married but wear rings.

Bottom one is my partner's mum's wedding ring.

Top one is a ring I had designed this year. Spookily it's nearly identical to another one on here.

Both platinum and completely different to the three rings from my ex when I was married.

Mine are pretty simple. The wedding ring was actually £14.99 from Argos! (1991) The engagement ring wasn’t much more..
I haven’t seen many engagement rings with heart shaped sides, would love to see someone who has one.
Everyone’s rings are lovely

I helped design mine with the jeweller. Teal sapphire with hand painted enamel halo and little diamond scallops. I love it so much!

We were only married in July and I still get excited every time I see my set ☺️ my wedding band is engraved to show sparkle without the cost of the gems, ha!

I'm agog at the price of vintage jewellery nowadays. I followed an auction sale specialist jewelry just before covid. The rings were going for crazy prices. It's the same in jewellers. I wonder if there's a move towards vintage engagement rings
