I go every 6 months and hygienist every 3 months.

thepurplewhisperer · 30/09/2022 15:16

Every six months when it should be a year. Driving me up the wall but at least we are being seen by the nhs.

Floydthebarber · 30/09/2022 15:18

I have one booked for monday! But at least three years since the last one. Am fortunate that I have good teeth, just luck I think.

This thread prompted me to call and book a check up… last seen July 2021, so I’m just within their 18 months window before being struck off. Made an appointment… for 31st january 2023. Wonderful.

Notplayingball · 30/09/2022 20:41

Just before lockdown hit in 2020.

OneLittleLady · 30/09/2022 20:51

i havent been for over four years as theres simply no one taking patients on either private or nhs in the town or surrounding area. my teeth are wrecked but if i cant get registered anywhere theres nothing i can do

Violinist64 · 30/09/2022 20:58

August. I generally go for a check up once a year and rarely need anything done.

BeanieTeen · 30/09/2022 21:00

Today actually! The time before that, 6 months ago - and the time before that 13 years 😂 I hadn’t been since my teens, but my teeth were fine.

XenoBitch · 30/09/2022 21:04

4 years.

CyberSecurityRoundabout · 30/09/2022 21:06

Few weeks ago, cracked a tooth on a frozen chocate bar that had been stored incorrectly during the heatwave!

Supermarket paid for my filling and xray though (I didnt ask them to. they just offered & sent the cheque!) 😊

2007

I spent years getting over a severe dental phobia and had let the dentist remove the remains of 3 teeth I'd let die in my mouth since 1994. I'd lived through the pain of it and was doing good.

Then my dentist moved hundreds of miles away, I saw the new one once and he lectured me about not going in the past. Was very sanctimonious and basically I've never been back. I'm very very good at dental hygiene, brushing, flossing, mouthwash etc as I plan to never go back.

neighboursmustliveon · 30/09/2022 21:22

June and my next appointment is June next year. I've only ever gone more than a year or so at uni.

nannybeach · 30/09/2022 21:32

Babymamaroon · 30/09/2022 22:31

HighlandPony · 01/10/2022 01:05

7 years ago when I last had it free after a baby. Need to book and get them all sorted before my free dental runs out with this one but can’t get an appointment

2bazookas · 01/10/2022 01:14

Last month. And six months before that, and six months before that.

AuntieMarys · 01/10/2022 07:21

nannybeach I'm on a dental plan...pay £22 a month. Worth every penny...I'm early 60s and had some gum disease. Now under control.
I have good teeth and don't want to lose any!

nannybeach · 01/10/2022 08:12

Auntie,ah right. I went private for some years,as I had clear round for years, never needed any work and we moved. Traumatic experience with absolutely awful hygienist, found recommend NHS dentist, she even saw me during lockdown. My DD had a plan with the kids,I assumed it covered everything,it didn't, thankfully they are now registered with mine.

troppibambini6 · 01/10/2022 08:21

Last week.
I've spent the last 2 years reversing my gum disease after not going for about 3 years.
I've also had lots of work done as my teeth weren't in great shape at all.
I've had-
A wisdom tooth out
2 fillings
A root canal
A crown
Numerous scale and polished

I'm absolutely buzzing as I got told last week my mouth is healthy with no concerns at all!

Needadviceagain · 01/10/2022 08:21

I was there Tuesday. Go every 6 months. Except during 2020 covid-ness when I had a 9 month gap!

boatahoy · 01/10/2022 08:23

Two years ago and only because it was a dental emergency - I had an abscessed tooth. My last arranged appointments/check ups were fairly regular and were before covid. Since covid it's impossible to get an appointment with my local dentist. I had to travel an hour for a private dental appointment.
