Do your kids wear a fresh pair of pyjamas/sleep clothes everyday?

My daughters pyjamas are a long sleeve T-shirt and some loose leggings as she gets really hot. They're thinner than actual pyjamas. Do you change your kids pyjamas everyday? If they got toothpaste on it?

God, at least a week - sorry, we are unclean. 😊

Who has the time and money for all this washing? It's so weird.

Azandme · 30/11/2022 14:28

Finding it hilarious how enraaaaged some posters are getting about other people's pyjama choices...

Clean pjs every night. Youngest has a shower before bed every night, eldest has a shower in the morning every day.

To those who go a week, do you allow yourselves clean pjs every night? I certainly do- and I have a shower daily too!!

I sleep in pants and a tshirt. Pants changed daily, just like DD, tshirt every few says.

Once a week like the rest of the family. Regardless of toothpaste or cereal encrustation. Though she’s currently determined to get changed in the middle of the night into random party dresses so often what she goes to bed in is not what she’s wearing by the time she crawls into our bed at 6am…

QueenBeex · 30/11/2022 17:30

Once a week, toothpaste doesn't matter at all.

03X · 30/11/2022 17:38

Every other day, I thought that was potentially dirty. I’m glad to see I’m doing ok (3 kids mean I try to cut washing as much as I can haha)

Snowpaw · 30/11/2022 17:50

I really didn't know clean pyjamas every night was a thing.

I feel like I do so much washing as it is (at least one load every day) and if we all had an extra outfit per day...god. The washing machine would never be off. And the faff of drying it all!

I do clean PJ bottoms for my DD every 2 - 3 days but the tops last for ages.

I wash my own and DP's pyjama pants maybe once a week. I'm putting my clean, washed body into my pyjamas and literally sitting on a sofa or in bed in them, not mud wrestling.

heartbroken22 · 29/03/2023 22:27

I try to do every 2 days now.

Yes clean and fresh pair everynight.

BigBadBoom · 29/03/2023 22:35

Ours have a shower or bath most nights (or a top and tail wash). Clean PJs every few days, unless they've done something grotesque - 5yr old had a cold recently and kept using his sleeve instead of a tissue 🤢

I agree and we are the same.

DaysofHoney · 29/03/2023 22:38

Absolutely not. This is where madness lies.

Copperoliverbear · 29/03/2023 22:39

Yes clean pyjamas and clean clothes everyday x

Bananalanacake · 29/03/2023 23:03

Mine also get clean PJ's once a week, one DD is more prone to wetting so she gets clean pj bottoms every 2 days. They also wear most clothes 3 times before they go in the wash. I refuse to wash clean clothes unnecessarily.

People who wash pjs once a week. Do your kids not sweat?

heartbroken22 · 29/03/2023 23:08

Also to the same people how many pjs do your kids own?

A few pairs but only wash once a week or so or when stuff spilt on them. They shower every night & don't sweat that much !

They are 9.5 and 7, and no, they don’t sweat unless poorly. Presume they will do when they are older, and then we’ll wash more!

They don’t bathe everyday, their beds are changed every two weeks(!) - more often if they are unwell or in summer, and so far they are both surviving just fine!

KaleFairy · 30/03/2023 03:39

Yes she really likes them. Picking out fresh jammies is part of her routine.

Oblomov23 · 30/03/2023 05:57

Pleased to see most people saying once a week. Or at least 3 days. Every night is complete overkill.

SwordToFlamethrower · 30/03/2023 07:47

Ain't nobody got time for that

Oneofthosewsillydays · 01/04/2023 09:35

They get fresh pjs every other night after their bath, they do eat breakfast in them though aswell. They get a fresh vest on every night (so once every 24 hours).

Marchsnowstorms · 01/04/2023 11:59

Do you all take 7 pairs of pjs on holiday then??

OodieBoogie · 02/04/2023 16:02

For my DC, yes. If we were away for a week in the UK, I'd probably take four or five pairs and rinse them through in the sink.

For me, no, I wouldn't.

Number24Bus · 02/04/2023 16:04

Once a week here - they own two pairs so they swap each week. Too much washing is expensive and bad for the environment!
