Do your kids wear a fresh pair of pyjamas/sleep clothes everyday?

My daughters pyjamas are a long sleeve T-shirt and some loose leggings as she gets really hot. They're thinner than actual pyjamas. Do you change your kids pyjamas everyday? If they got toothpaste on it?

Once a week is a bit unusual, I think! Change PJs very other day here and shower/ bath almost every day (cubs are too late one night a week/ we miss a Sat).

I don't wear any to bed- just underwear here- so mine are just for lounging, so 4/5 days for me.

alsonotmyname · 30/11/2022 00:06

Every other day now to cut down on dryer costs, mine go an extra day or so as I don't sleep in them, dc shower/ bath every other day

Gruffling · 30/11/2022 00:08

Yes, bath and clean sleepwear every night.

You don't need dedicated pajamas - we just get multipacks of leggings and long sleeved cotton tops from supermarkets. Often she keeps her top on for the day as it was clean on - this is also a good tactic if your child does not like getting changed in the morning.

Unbelievable how many are changing pjs every night - even every other day for kids is too often!

my kids change pjs twice per week. The pre teen showers daily / every other day
younger one has a bath 2/3 times per week

Unless kids are babies / toddlers and before they’re old enough to be sweaty like adults, it’s so unnecessary to change pjs as often

Outofnowhere · 30/11/2022 00:17

Yes very smelly teenager here even though they bath every night.

Yes, he doesn’t wear anything under his pyjamas, so his pyjama bottoms are essentially a big pair of pants, he wouldn’t wear pants twice, so he shouldn’t be wearing pyjama bottoms twice.

This!

RobinRobinMouse · 30/11/2022 04:55

Dd usually spills breakfast all down them somehow so quite often every day, if they survive breakfast then I'd say about every 3 days. We are bedtime underwear wearers though if that makes a difference!

soesdy · 30/11/2022 05:32

Since my dc had threadworms last summer, they have been bathing and new pjs every night. It was advised.

I will continue to do this as it now feels the normal thing to do.

Pepperama · 30/11/2022 05:43

once a week

Oblomov22 · 30/11/2022 05:56

No. Once a week.

Rinatinabina · 30/11/2022 06:12

Yes but she’s not dry at night and often has a little leak.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 30/11/2022 06:55

My dd has fresh pjs every night.

Yes. Same here. Clean pj's every night.

shortandpaleandoldandugly · 30/11/2022 07:06

Clean pjs every night. Youngest has a shower before bed every night, eldest has a shower in the morning every day.

To those who go a week, do you allow yourselves clean pjs every night? I certainly do- and I have a shower daily too!!

My DS was a sweaty baby, now a sweaty kid. He also had a tendency to leak a bit. Quite often we change pj pants more than once before he's even gone to sleep!

avocadotofu · 30/11/2022 07:07

We change every day because my DS tends to wear his pyjamas at breakfast and gets them dirty. I would also change if they had toothpaste on them.

toomuchlaundry · 30/11/2022 07:15

It’s not just the washing and drying (if you use a tumble dryer) it’s the amount if resources used in the clothes. If people have about 10 pairs of pyjamas, do you have lots of other sorts of clothes too?

I’m assuming the wash daily posters also wash bedding/towels on a very frequent basis.

Theoldwoman · 30/11/2022 07:16

Yes , absolutely.

I wear clean ones to bed each night, why wouldn’t they?

FourTeaFallOut · 30/11/2022 07:23

No, nor do I.

MistyFrequencies · 30/11/2022 07:27

No. Twice a week. Wed & Sun usually. Too much washing to do every day.

FirstTimeMaybes · 30/11/2022 07:28

No. DC Always go to bed clean.

So even though they don't wear underwear then PJs last a few nights.

WhaSaucepan · 30/11/2022 07:46

Even before bills rose we didn’t because it just makes extra work.
I have always worn clothes as mud as possible though clean undies every day but I grew up hand washing everything until my family got a twin tub when I was about a teenager.

I sleep naked 🤷🏻‍♀️

stopbeeping · 30/11/2022 07:59

Yes I do because they wear pull ups and my son who has asd is an extremely messy eater

ShirleyHolmes · 30/11/2022 08:14

DS (12) wears pants and an oodie. Pants changed morning and night, oodie when it smells! About once a week but he only really wears it in the evenings and overnight.

The rest of us change nightclothes about twice a week, they’re checked daily and hung on door to air, not under the pillow.
