Do your kids wear a fresh pair of pyjamas/sleep clothes everyday?

My daughters pyjamas are a long sleeve T-shirt and some loose leggings as she gets really hot. They're thinner than actual pyjamas. Do you change your kids pyjamas everyday? If they got toothpaste on it?

Nope.

JockTamsonsBairns · 29/11/2022 22:40

I'm surprised that people are washing pyjamas after just one wear.
Maybe energy consumption isn't an issue for you?

Azandme · 29/11/2022 22:43

I wear mine twice, dd11 only wears hers once 🙄.

Yeah mine are in fresh pyjamas every night, they’re still really young and get their brekkie or toothpaste down themselves most mornings. If by some miracle their pyjamas are clean after breakfast then they re-wear them that night but it’s rare.
I also think it’s a nice home comfort to be freshly bathed and in fresh pyjamas each night. There’s so much I wish I could give my children that I’m unable to, at least that little home comfort is something I can control.

Or they just have different priorities, or a larger load capacity washer.

DD wears clean pjs every day. It has zero impact on my energy consumption because they're all light coloured and go in the single whites wash I do a week - which generally consist of 5 school tops, and 5 crop tops. They're getting washed regardless, so adding pjs actually makes that load more cost effective.

Pleasantly surprised to see so many normal responses saying they are not washed after one wear.

hannsmum · 29/11/2022 22:49

Yes every night after bath time.

This!!

That would be a hard no OP! I need more washing in my life like I need a hole in my head.

In fact the latter would be preferable.

LynLynette · 29/11/2022 22:51

I wouldn’t for a bit of toothpaste but I end up changing at least the top of her pyjamas nearly every time they’re worn because they get dirty mostly from breakfast.

hellosunshineagainxxx · 29/11/2022 22:51

2 nights wear here but they are 3

PeppermintyPatty · 29/11/2022 22:53

Yes. One child is a sweaty little beast so sometimes gets through more than one pair a night, the other is very approximate with his eating so usually ends up with breakfast on them.

caringcarer · 29/11/2022 22:54

Foster child changes PJ's twice a week. He showers twice most days as does a lot of sport.

minipie · 29/11/2022 22:55

No, changed once a week here. They don’t eat in PJs except on Sundays - PJs get changed on sundays.

Cakeandcoffee93 · 29/11/2022 22:55

Every night for me and dd-
i can’t imagine not being every night or bath night-
but every house is different
my mum had us bathed and bed fresh to help us sleep every night aha

TheTeddyBears · 29/11/2022 22:57

It used to be everyday as they get bathed every night and I'd put clean ones on. However I've now started doing every second night to cut down on washing but mainly for the tumble dryer. Sometimes they spill something on it so it ends up only lasting one night 🙄

Bearonthestair · 29/11/2022 22:57

Yes, fresh pair every night. For me and the children. Always have done.

thisismylittlebrotherGeorge · 29/11/2022 22:58

Fresh pjs every 3 days here

TheBirdintheCave · 29/11/2022 23:01

Once a week for us. We change the bedding and jammies on Sunday night. We only have two pairs of pyjamas each.

Beginningless · 29/11/2022 23:01

Fresh pair most nights for mine. It’s not often I’m at the cleanest end of the MN spectrum and I think it’s because they are not that clean in their bodies! They only bath/shower say twice a week so I think pjs are a bit whiffy to rewear usually.

youagainomg · 29/11/2022 23:02

Every other night for my children. I don't wear pyjamas.

LlareggubTripAdviser · 29/11/2022 23:06

OFGS ! Here I the real world we wash out PJs once a week .. get them out fro over out pillows at bath time .. HOW MUCH ENERGY ARE YPU ALL USING UNNECESSARILY ?

Bobbybobbins · 29/11/2022 23:06

Once a week. They bath every night so pjs don't get mucky.

Only when it comes to heating (on MN).

Rupertgrintismyguiltypleasure · 29/11/2022 23:12

Ds14 has asd and in his mind he has to have fresh clean pj bottoms/or shorts every night.
dd changes hers every 2 nights, except for the weekend which is usually 3 nights, due to bath routine. unless they get totally wet, a bit of toothpaste never harmed anyone.

RosettaStormer · 29/11/2022 23:13

How many pairs of pjs do people have???
