Do your kids wear a fresh pair of pyjamas/sleep clothes everyday?

My daughters pyjamas are a long sleeve T-shirt and some loose leggings as she gets really hot. They're thinner than actual pyjamas. Do you change your kids pyjamas everyday? If they got toothpaste on it?

i cannot comprehend the amount of washing this would mean-I struggle to keep on top of it as it is! Nor does she own enough PJs to change every day!

LlareggubTripAdviser · 29/11/2022 23:20

This thread is completely BONKERS !

Unless
Your kids are rolling around in muck between getting them on AFTER a bath and the next morning..
(so literally sleeping in there CLEAN BODIES in them ... ) why the FUCK ARE YPU SPENDING MONEY WASHING NOTHING ?

Feetache · 29/11/2022 23:23

God no. They get washed when they look like they need it. Easily a week or more

How many pairs?

Dh 3
Eldest 3 but tends to sleep in boxers all year
Dsc 4 pairs
Dd prob 10 or more
Ds 10.or more
Myself 6 plus night shirts for summer

They often get out of uniform into pjs. Or for example dd was covered in paint from school (age 4) so needed to wash uniform. We had about 1hr 15 till she went to a club. Had I put her club uniform on it would have inevitably got something on it and she has only 1 set . So she wore pjs for an hr. Much prefer to wash pjs than whole outfits in cases like that.

Blueeyedgirl21 · 29/11/2022 23:26

Toothpaste is a non event
5mo dd we change sleepwear sometimes twice a day. Reflux sick plus pee normally all over her sleep suits. Sometimes also poop. But she’s a baby. Anything over 3 and potty trained I think twice or three times a week is fine

SkankingWombat · 29/11/2022 23:26

Mine change them once or twice a week, or get a fresh half a set if a top/bottoms mysteriously goes missing between wake up and bedtime (this happens surprisingly often). Missing PJs that have finally re-materialised are sniffed then either washed or put to be reworn depending on the smell.

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 29/11/2022 23:28

Every 2nd night here, occasionally every third. 0-2 I'd say was probably daily. Now he's over 3 he doesn't get in such a mess.
If my son got toothpaste on his pyjamas he'd prob ask to wear new ones!

Bearonthestair · 29/11/2022 23:28

We all have lots of sleepwear. Easily 12+ pairs each.

Fleece ones, thermal ones, onesies, summer ones. We love pjs in this house!
I get loads as gifts, hand me downs etc.

Yes, he doesn’t wear anything under his pyjamas, so his pyjama bottoms are essentially a big pair of pants, he wouldn’t wear pants twice, so he shouldn’t be wearing pyjama bottoms twice.

1x week as they have shower/bath every night and mostly get dressed before breakfast

RewildingAmbridge · 29/11/2022 23:36

Yes but I have a very sweaty 3 year old, he doesn't wear pants underneath either. Also he eats breakfast in them which often results in porridge/Weetabix/egg yolk on them

Swapshopped · 29/11/2022 23:36

2 nights usually for 5 yo
3 y o usually every night- leaking nighttime nappy, breakfast, etc

Ah the magical world of MN where people shower twice a day but bath their kids once a week.

carefulcalculator · 29/11/2022 23:43

No. It is mad how much washing people are creating unnecessarily. What harm would come from wearing pyjamas with a bit of toothpaste on them?

UsingChangeofName · 29/11/2022 23:46

No

Why do you ask ?

norwichmummy123 · 29/11/2022 23:47

Yes every day pj bottoms are changed but not top

FrightfullyFreezy · 29/11/2022 23:49

No lol we have enough washing to do!

IWishIWasABaller · 29/11/2022 23:50

Every 2nd day here . Daughters and I have about 10 pairs of pj's each and sons & dh sleep in boxers so have two pairs each in case they ever did need them

maryberryslayers · 29/11/2022 23:57

Yes, bath and fresh pjs every night here. The littlest gets her breakfast down them and the eldest wipes his mouth/nose on his sleeve.
