We don't. Have maybe ....10 a year maximum.

Not that we don't enjoy them, we just don't do them regularly.

Most people I know still so the Sunday Roast thing. And my SIL will often have a mid week one too.

Not every week and barely any over the Summer.

mountainsunsets · 26/09/2022 07:49

No. Maybe twice a year at most.

MidnightAnnie · 26/09/2022 07:51

Yes, we do.

Dannexe · 26/09/2022 07:52

Every weekend and a slightly slimmed down version midweek too.

hopeishere · 26/09/2022 07:53

Yes. It's one of DH's favourite meals. Kids hate it. I don't mind. Once you get into the routine it's less faff. I do basic veg with it.

JingsMahBucket · 26/09/2022 07:54

@hopeishere why do your kids hate it?

ThreeRingCircus · 26/09/2022 07:54

No, although I do love them but probably only cook one every couple of months or so.

Donttakeafence · 26/09/2022 07:55

Full roast with all the works is a couple of times a year, but a slimmed down version makes an appearance in the autumn/winter, not really in the summer. For our regular ‘roast’ it’s probably chicken, with some vegetables roasted in the air fryer, and some greenery, plus maybe yorkies and definitely gravy (but might be not real gravy, at a pinch). Proper roast involves potatoes that are about a million calories each and real gravy. Proper potatoes are reserved for the high holidays.

OrangePumpkinLobelia · 26/09/2022 07:55

Not really. But quite often. In summer it tends to be roast chicken with salads. In winter more 'traditional' type roasts. Maybe every 3 weeks or so.

BuffaloCauliflower · 26/09/2022 07:56

My mum does most weeks year round (except for some hot summer days) we often go round along with my siblings and family, it’s lovely

Cwcwbird · 26/09/2022 07:57

Probably monthly more than weekly. I enjoy them as an occasional treat but every week would ruin them for me.

faffadoodledo · 26/09/2022 07:57

We used to do a roast chicken every Sunday night. But the children left home. And for the two of us it seemed a faff. And now meat has totally dropped off the menu, so we never do!

DreamingofItaly2023 · 26/09/2022 08:03

No because DS is an unusual child in not liking roast dinner. I do find the thought of a weekly roast at least in autumn and winter very comforting but I’m not cooking one unless we all eat it.

Greenbeanmcgee · 26/09/2022 08:05

No. I only have a roast dinner 3 or 4 times a year including Christmas. The thought of having one every week is not appealing.

I don't know anyone who does but I'm in Scotland where I think it's much less common, at least in my area.

PosiePerkinPootleFlump · 26/09/2022 08:06

Probably once a month from mid September to April ish. We had our first in ages last weekend.
We do the full works with proper roast potatoes, Yorkshire puds etc.
Try not to eat too much meat and when we do buy good quality so it definitely feels like a treat

LovelyDaaling · 26/09/2022 08:06

We love roast dinners so I make one every week.

tulips27 · 26/09/2022 08:08

No, and I'm not sure I know anyone that does, even.

barnjob · 26/09/2022 08:09

Yes but only because it's DDs favourite, wouldn't bother otherwise.

That's what my son used to say but as his cleared plate belied this, I ignored him. He regularly cooks a roast with his girlfriend and proudly sends photos!

FluffySocksAndHotChocolate · 26/09/2022 08:10

I used to every weekend in spring/autumn/winter. I don't anymore, it costs to much electric. How depressing is that?

Grissini50 · 26/09/2022 08:11

Probably about 3-4 times a year (including Xmas, Easter). My daughter is another hater and we don’t eat meat. I do love a roast though.

AriettyHomily · 26/09/2022 08:12

Not so much anymore as the kids activities take up most of Sunday and I can't be arsed with a roast if we are eating in the evening. It's a lunch time thing to me.

gingercat02 · 26/09/2022 08:14

In the winter most weeks, we have it in the evening rather than lunch and it's cold and dark anyway. In the summer we are likely to be out or have a BBQ or have visitors so less likely

wibblewobbleball · 26/09/2022 08:15

A Proper Roast (homemade everything and extremely calorific potatoes as a PP said) only a handful of times a year. A variation on that theme is done maybe 20 times a year. However every Sunday through winter we do have a hearty and comforting home made meal - sausages and mash, rich beef stew, etc.

user7845209 · 26/09/2022 08:16

Not very often as we are often busy doing other things
