I really feel for Charles. How strange to hear them sing God save the King after years and years, a long lifetime of God save the Queen to his mother.

Or don’t particularly like the hymn.

That first one in the Abbey, while it’s a lovely tune, is actually quite difficult to sing well. Great long lung busting phrases and timing that can trail out of control in lesser hands.

Needless to say they did it beautifully.

Interesting to see Beatrice go out before Edward

Probably as having to walk at such a slow pace, Curb bits reining them back, it's not hard to see why they get a bit restless.

Charles looked like he was about to collapse and he isn’t a young man. They have made it this far. The next part is much more private thank goodness for them.

What's all this about "keeping it together" FGS if someone shows emotion is it really such a huge sin/faux pas? I know they are in public but come on it shows that everyone is human. Is it a British stiff upper lip thing or what?

Anyway I appreciated the threads and followed them with great interest and some sadness, remembering my own bereavements today also. End of an era.
