The lowering of the coffin makes me think if the curtain closing around the coffin at crematoriums. Very final.

elizaregina · 19/09/2022 16:50

Incredible.

We saw her go!!

urgen · 19/09/2022 16:50

I really don’t like the pipes but they were her choice and this day is all about her.

dutchyoriginal · 19/09/2022 16:50

goosebumps and tears. not even British

PlacidPenelope · 19/09/2022 16:50

Oh no, 😭how they are holding it together in there I don't know, I'm in bits.

SoupDragon · 19/09/2022 16:50

(I assume just further away but I have wondered!)

Bouledeneige · 19/09/2022 16:51

Very moving.

We won't see her like again.

PipinwasAuntieMabelsdog · 19/09/2022 16:51

There'll never be another like this in our lifetimes.

We'll let you off, just this once 😁

IpanemaChic · 19/09/2022 16:51

Aww I’m going to miss her and her cheery smile 😢

FuzzyPuffling · 19/09/2022 16:51

Beautifully done. All of it.

The 'breaking of the wand' was a bit underwhelming. I expected him to properly snap it.

We said the same...

Vapeyvapevape · 19/09/2022 16:51

She's gone

AnotherExpatKiwi · 19/09/2022 16:49

It’s trespasses, not trespassers. As in sinned or did you wrong, not walk on your land uninvited.

sorry ... I have been brought up saying debts and debtors so I didnt think about the word trespasses

LyndaSnellsSniff · 19/09/2022 16:52

Oh my. The bagpipes fading away 😢

I'm a complete mess. I've no idea how they're so composed.

Same here. I've cried so many times 😭

Some will live in married quarters, some in barracks. I expect they have all been living in wellington Barracks for the past 10 days. Although the Queens Conpany are currently deployed in Iraq and returned for this duty.

So they don’t just do guard duty and ceremonial stuff all the time? I assume they are in more typical military gear when they’re serving elsewhere?

Hellocatshome · 19/09/2022 16:53

Its strange how I am going to miss someone I never met.

PizzaFunghi · 19/09/2022 16:53

how on earth do they stop crying and dripping noses and stuff, I keep marvelling at that. Even the tiniest welling up in my eyes makes my nose run for hours

elizaregina · 19/09/2022 16:53

Musically I think violins, piano, harps, double bass etc...

WildfellAnne · 19/09/2022 16:53

Gosh, that was something. I thought the herald did well, just about kept his voice steady.

OliveOyl321 · 19/09/2022 16:53

So is that it then? I assumed the family would get private time (where they could freely cry and hug each other is they wanted) and they would be the last to see her before cremation or burial or whatever???

Pumpkintopf · 19/09/2022 16:53

Found that a bit jarring, the repetition of what had been said about Elizabeth, for Charles - but that's monarchy continuing I guess

MarshaBradyo · 19/09/2022 16:53

The bag piper was really poignant

The 'breaking of the wand' was a bit underwhelming. I expected him to properly snap it.

But what if it didn't snap...?
