Anyone else feel Kate was born to be a royal?

Watching the Queen's coverage all week & Kate looks like she was born for the role. (Also please don't turn this into a Meghan bashing thread, Meghan is equally beautiful & elegant but has chosen to be a non working royal which is why this thread is about Kate).
Even looking back at old school photos she looked so poised & elegant. She had an idyllic childhood, supportive parents & is doing a wonderful job in her new role.

+1 for Kate, she's doing very well in the role.

There are a lot of green-eyed monsters on this thread.

DillDanding · 15/09/2022 14:53

Not being an arse here but what’s the point of her then?

While we have a royal family, the point of Kate is to turn up, smile, look good in photos. She is a royal Stepford wife and she does it very well.

Bugeyedowl · 15/09/2022 14:54

Far more ''offensive" things have been written about Kate in this thread alone and those posts still stand

I haven't seen any nasty comments on here. Some have suggested that she may have been trained for the part and could perhaps express herself more. Which I think are fair comments. Why are you so determined to bring Meghan into everything?

She may be opinionated, loud and pushy.

You think she could have hidden that for this long? Even Meghan said she was a nice person.

No one here knows what Kate is like in real life. She may be opinionated, loud and pushy. Or quiet, calm and introverted.

I have this mental image now of Kate slamming around* *Anmer Hall effing and blinding at William and shouting ''Get your fuckin' toys off this sofa George or the whole lot's going in a bin bag!''.

😂

Aspiringmatriarch · 15/09/2022 14:55

I have had one or two comments deleted - for pointing out that Meghan fans dislike Kate because Kate's discretion and faultless behaviour basically makes Meghan look bad. This is true.

I see you're trying hard to derail the thread, but not everyone sees the need to put one woman down in order to praise another. It's just not relevant. To echo another poster - get a life, Susan.

Right, that's why your comment has been deleted for breaking Talk guidelines (along with all your other comments across various threads). Pack it in.

Why? Because no-one has bothered to report them. Certain posters are twitchy about any criticism of their idols and report posts at the slightest provocation to censor all dissent. I'd prefer the thread to remain, so people can make up their own minds.

Far more than one or two.

Yawn. Stop justifying your horrible, bullying comments.

Yeah, I doubt that very much. I'm sure someone would have been along to report comments as nasty as yours directed towards Kate, but there haven't been any.
Feel free to report all these "far more offensive" comments yourself though!

Have you read the thread?? Here's just one example of a nasty comment:

Born to be royal or raised to try and snag him?! To put up and shut up when her husband shags around? Hmmm.
Someone needs to have a chat with her about her blusher though. It was looking terrible yesterday.

She’s very beautiful, smiles gushingly at the right times, clasps her hands and looks interested at the right times and is utterly bland and boring without her own opinions. So she’s good at her job, but it’s depressing that so many hold her up to this perfect standard when she hasn’t actually achieved or done anything.

i much prefer Zara Tindell - more a modern day princess who has her own opinions, successes and looks like she’d be a laugh

But maybe the lack of expectations have allowed Zara to be as she is. Were she higher up the batting order she may not have been allowed the freedoms she's had. In an interview with Zara and her brother she was asked if she didn't feel a bit envious of her cousins who had the titles and her reply was along the lines of God, no, I wouldn't want to have all that stuff, Mum did us a massive favour.

I am not at all jealous. Just pointing out that none of us know her.

gnilliwdog · 15/09/2022 14:58

I am not a royalist but just thinking what I'd like them to do as we have them. I would like them to make a statement on the cost of living crisis, something to show there is an understanding of the poverty and anxiety many are facing. Some clue that they care about the public, otherwise it's all very one sided. In a dream world they would actually veto the worst excesses of our government and argue for better protection of the people. That's probably not K's role but just thinking what they could do that would seem meaningful.

Babymamaroon · 15/09/2022 14:59

Pinkpeony2 · 15/09/2022 11:44

She wasn’t born to be a royal no. Of course not.
She was born into a very wealthy family who’s wealth is old money and stretches back.
Her family are upper middle class and that also stretches back through previous generations.
Her family were wealthy enough to have the right family connections before she was even born, and then gave her the right opportunities.
She must have the right temperament too and how she conducts herself attracted William who will have been extremely well trained in who to involve in a serious relationship.
Once in the serious relationship she has been heavily trained and prepared and alongside that she has the temperament and personality which slots right in to the royal machine.
I love the phrase she is more royal than the royals 🤣
She seems like William to me in the female form! Can’t imagine a better match and I just love the fact she wasn’t born into royalty. It’s all learned and performed.

Wasn't Carol born in Southall and an air hostess?

Kate was also briefly sent to the local village state school.

I think it's a stretch to say she was born into an upper-middle type family although do agree that's what they subsequently became.

Arbesque · 15/09/2022 14:59

She comes across as dignified and professional. She's polite and courteous to the press when she's on official business but obviously likes and expects to be left alone when she's not.

In fact she's got the Queen's poise and decorum and Diana's hands on affection for her children.

Perfect future Queen really.

LondonWolf · 15/09/2022 14:59

Some really awful comments on this thread - far more attacks than defence of the woman in question. Interesting given that any criticism of her sister in law Meghan is immediately framed as racist and robustly defended against.

A useful thread in that we can read multiple women viciously slagging of another woman - even suggesting that she flashes herself to the public purposely - and it seemingly being perfectly acceptable with no way to brush it off as being race related. When it's Meghan, the world is apparently watching and finding us disgustingly racist, when its Kate the world is <<crickets>>?

Pallisers · 15/09/2022 15:00

She certainly demonstrates the wisdom of the heir to the throne marrying an educated woman of nearly 30 who comes from a happy stable family instead of marrying a fragile near teenager from a highly dysfunctional background.

Quartz2208 · 15/09/2022 15:00

She is very much suited to being a consort - very different to being a Royal

I agree the expectations for a woman in Kate's role is to be pretty and bland.
But I find it incredibly depressing this idea that a woman should be expected to play this role.

Seriously? You think that really compares with all the MYRIAD of hateful, spiteful, nasty and downright racist comments about Meghan on here, the last few days? Yeah, OK.

Born to be royal or raised to try and snag him?! - I agree with this part. I think this is exactly what she was raised for.

To put up and shut up when her husband shags around? - Ditto. It's not a good look for a modern woman, and I would never look up to that.

Someone needs to have a chat with her about her blusher though. It was looking terrible yesterday. - Yeah, bitchy but TAME compared to what gets chucked at Meghan.

MeridianB · 15/09/2022 15:02

“I do think she was brought up in such a way that she would fit in anywhere & with anyone.”

This. It’s a great, empowering thing for any child, regardless of what they want to be in life. It’s nothing to do with social climbing, it’s mostly about being courteous and interested in everyone and everything. Her parents should be proud of that.

The expectations on the other hand are mental.

@Bugeyedowl

Thanks for proving my point

Connie2468 · 15/09/2022 15:03

She's very good at her job - looks good in expensive clothes, smiles a lot, keeps her opinions to herself, doesn't make a fuss, had some healthy children.

Various other royal wives either looked good in clothes but voiced their opinions. Or made a fuss. Or kept their mouths shut but didn't look so good in clothes.
So Kate is the whole royal package.

InterviewWorry · 15/09/2022 15:03

TimBoothseyes · 15/09/2022 13:12

Having some kind of personality, a bit of spark. As it is she comes across as an accessory. I just find her dull and bland.

I think most people would come across as dull in her situation. When you meet people who have enough personality for it to come across on television (celebrities, generally) they're either an absolute nightmare IRL or else they have a TV persona which is bigger than their real personality.

Its funny how this vision of fitting in only seems to apply to women. It certainly does not apply to aristocratic or Royal men.
