Driving test tomorrow but I can’t drive

Do I cancel? There are still times (not often but at least once or twice a lesson) when my instructor has to brake for me or tell me to steer away from a parked car. My test is tomorrow. I’m not ready am I? I still can’t reliably reverse park either. I feel like crying. I have 1 hour before test tomorrow to somehow magically learn how to drive. Instructor says she thinks I’m ready. I just don’t see how.

Congratulations OP!

When I first passed my test I used to go out late at night (I worked shifts at the time so I'd go after a late) and just drive about for an hour or two. Get lost, find my way again, do some reversing and parking in supermarket car parks, get used to my car and the road, it helped loads with my confidence.

So pleased for you, make sure you drive every day, even short trips will build your confidence. Many congrats 👏

Congratulations! I passed first time last year at 38 years old. I cried in the middle of my test I was so nervous. Still not a very confident driver but sometimes when I’m driving home from work I just can’t believe that I’m actually doing it

OP I felt like this, exactly this time last week. My test was 1 week ago yesterday at 12:30. I passed with 1 minor. The Thursday was full of ‘what ifs’ ‘if I fail…’ I failed the first time for one very silly minor mistake. I felt like I was shit at parallel parking. Still haven’t attempted it in my own car but soon I suspect I’ll need to 😂. Honestly, you won’t get your money back now. I advise just going for it! If you fail, you can rebook again and get lots of practice up until then. I promise it’s worth just giving it a go! The world doesn’t end if you don’t pass. Good luck x

I've only just seen this thread I treated my first test as a practice/mock and passed too! I was so surprised I argued with the examiner telling him I couldn't have passed! Well done, what an amazing day for you xx

Well done! I highly recommend doing a pass plus course. Does wonders for confidence and especially for those who learned on intensive courses and don't actually have a lot of road experience.

Insideallday · 15/09/2022 21:19

Brilliant 🤩 Well done OP!

Agree with this, and I think it'd probably help you a lot OP. Congratulations 🎉
