I honestly think some people see it as 'a day out' - probably some of the same people who hang around A&E with a small cut etc
Funnily enough I was at A&E recently for a small cut but I knew it would need tetanus and antibiotics so I had to go. Walked in around 11pm and heard someone say she'd been waiting ten hours. 😱
Waited two hours to see the triage nurse who told me I needed tetanus and antibiotics 🙄 and the wait would be at least seven hours. I worked out my local minor injury unit opened at 8:30 am and elected to go home and get some sleep before attending minor injuries in the morning. I believe the hospital has actively chosen the most uncomfortable chairs possible for "reasons". A hard, rigid L but ever so slightly tipping forward, no slumping remotely possible.
I can't imagine queuing 30 hours - and what happens if you are done at 2am with no tubes or trains running, where would one go until everything opens up again?
DD saw someone in the news last night who had managed to go round five times in Edinburgh. Not just mad but selfish too, adding to the queue for everyone else.
