So the question is, would you join it? I’m just not very patient and don’t think I could do it!

This is why I refuse to go to Legoland. It's hell!

But I am planning on queuing for the Queen 👑

When are you planning to go?

I like how there's some gentle nods, some proper from the waist bows, salutes and a few curtseys. But I've not seen anyone do nothing.

I've seen a couple a few hours a go.. (not that I've been watching it this whole time!)

Sparklingbrook · 14/09/2022 22:19

Uh oh noisy child with cough alert.

Antarcticant · 14/09/2022 22:22

Husband has on an episode of Jonathan Creek - period bursts of 'Danse Macabre' are quite appropriate.

Found the link! How fascinating. I just saw a small dog 🐕? Terrier file past. I do hope someone brings a corgi or two. Probably ought to bring her favourite racehorse as well.

Someone had a stuffed corgi a few minutes ago.

I want to see someone actually prostrate themselves.

Just been watching a bit of this, how often do they change the guards?

Id have an itchy leg or nose, guaranteed

Every 20 mins I think

CTPT · 14/09/2022 22:31

Speaking of the guard changes, does anyone know why it is every 20 mins? That seems quite a short amount of time considering they may be used to standing for hours?

PizzaFunghi · 14/09/2022 22:32

I thought there might be another Vigil of the Princes (and Princess) in Westminster Hall, but I don't think they did it immediately after the service, did they? Maybe it will be another day. or maybe Edinburgh was it.

Charles at least gets to go home tonight and have a bit of a rest, which I'm sure he needs.

In normal guarding, don't they go and march every 20 mins or so?

Shpaniel · 14/09/2022 22:36

Is there an element of actual body guarding as well as it being ceremonial, so maybe it’s 20 changes for concentration in case of a threat? No idea! Maybe they want all the guards to have a turn.

Id be interested to know this

Does anyone know?

DickDarstedly · 14/09/2022 22:36

I definitely read there would be a vigil of the Princes at Westminster. I wonder if there was a change of plan due to exhaustion?

LaurieFairyCake · 14/09/2022 22:38

They won't announce when the Princes will go because of security I assume

They will just rock up in next couple of days

Sparklingbrook · 14/09/2022 22:39

I'm wondering how long those candles will last, and if they need to change them who will do it?

LaurieFairyCake · 14/09/2022 22:39

I'm dead suspicious of the queue constantly saying 2.4 miles for the last 5 hours - surely during the night it will go down as transport slows/stops ?

BMW6 · 14/09/2022 22:39

Vigil of the Princes may be for the last night. Would be fitting.

bellac11 · 14/09/2022 22:40

I thought it seemed quite a short queue

ApolloandDaphne · 14/09/2022 22:41

Do you have to queue for a wrist band then join the actual queue?

Sparklingbrook · 14/09/2022 22:43

This Morning (on This Morning!) people were going down the queue giving the wristbands out from what I could tell.

Antarcticant · 14/09/2022 22:45

There's a thread here where the OP has joined the queue (since starting the thread)

Sparklingbrook · 14/09/2022 11:53

That would have been the sensible way. it's like they want the bonkers overnight queues.

Because it happened suddenly and the sheer volume of people to get through the hall

Because people would just turn up anyway and start queuing up. And then they have to manage the people with tickets who were stuck in the queue, but missed their time slot.

Because it's going on over a few days.... And people will turn up on the wrong day.

Because who would be hosting this event online?

Because some people will book loads of tickets they don't want "just in case"
Having a ginormous queue will actually stop people going. Because they bcant orneont queue for upto 30hrs

It's enough to get the people through the security checks, let alone checking tickets etc.

Dreikanter · 14/09/2022 22:58

Was that Sophie Raworth just now?

Antarcticant · 14/09/2022 22:59

Does anyone else feel like setting an alarm for 3am to see this going on through the night?
