Does anyone feel a deep sense of isolation and feeling 'alone'? She was much loved by us all and I always felt very protected by the queen

@JulyDreams exactly this. I said to my husband earlier that I feel strangely cast adrift.

ThreeRingCircus · 08/09/2022 19:35

I am a royalist but respect that many people are not....but I think nomatter what your thoughts on the monarchy are The Queen's commitment to service and duty were respected. In a turbulent world, she was a constant. It feels like a monumental moment for our nation.

RIP your majesty and thank you for your service. 💔

It's upset me a lot more than I expected. Funny that so many feel the same way.

Gymnopedie · 08/09/2022 19:36

I've been looking at the websites of several foreign newspapers. They are all leading on it in a very big way. It says how well she was known around the world.

Yes, I sobbed and I didn't meet her or know her
! I feel numb

It feels like she's left a void. We were so used to her being there - she had this quiet strength about her. it' does feel unsettling that she's suddenly gone..

Blueberry111 · 08/09/2022 19:37

Very sad news. RIP

My eyes watered up and I had a lump in my throat, when the national anthem played and it had her picture on that black background.

No idea why?!?! I've never met the woman or anything.

Harrystylestutu · 08/09/2022 19:38

I've had a cry. She was a constant in so many lives for so long. Elizabeth the Great.

Foronenightonly01 · 08/09/2022 19:38

I feel ridiculously emotional - so very sad, what an incredible reign she has had. Also feeling cross that Harry and Andrew have marred her final couple of years so badly - she’s obv had an exceptional innings but it won’t have helped.

Mooshamoo · 08/09/2022 19:38

I miss her.

I don't want a man as our leader!!!!! I miss the female motherly caring energy.

If it was a different man it wouldn't be so bad. If it was William (who has displayed many nice qualities) it would be fine.

But to go from kind, caring, hardworking, nice Elizabeth:

To Charles, who has been uncaring so many times, is too hard!

I cant think of any positive traits about Charles. At worst he is unkind and nasty. At best he is drippy and boring.

It is too hard to go from the great Elizabeth to him.

jennakong · 08/09/2022 19:38

If she really did have a long battle with cancer, as some are saying, then her last year or so must have been awful - bereavement on top of physical pain. If the cancer rumour is true, then I think Harry and Meghan are utterly contemptible. RIP.

Adversity · 08/09/2022 19:39

She was born the same year as my Mother who died 3 years ago. I actually feel really very sad. Remember being a child in 1977 for her Silver Jubilee with great fondness.

I cried when it was announced which is very unlike me. Famous people always feel distant but not her.

JustAnotherPoster00 · 08/09/2022 19:40

Indoctrination is alive and well though

testerwiki · 08/09/2022 19:41

It felt like she would live to 100 like her mother. Sad. Hoping Charles takes on the leadership to bring his sons together not just as a father with only the 2 children, but for the sake of this country. Life is short!

RIP Your Majesty❤️

Thanks NanaNelly I love that sketch and watching it always makes me smile but today it's made me both smile and have a little cry😢. She really was an amazing woman and irreplaceable. RIP Your Majesty 💕

Underthehills · 08/09/2022 19:42

We were at the boat flotilla for the Golden Jubilee. You could hear the cheer rising down the river long before she appeared. It was almost primeval, this deep roar of unity for a truly amazing woman.

I've spent the last hour crying. I never expected to be so upset by her death. RIP Queen Elizabeth.

Mooshamoo · 08/09/2022 19:43

She had a motherly energy. She was like a mother of the nation. She worked so hard. she never complained. She never retired.

She did a lot for us.

greystarblanchard · 08/09/2022 19:43

The end of an era.

The Queen has passed away.
SavBbunny · 08/09/2022 19:44

@Harrystylestutu Elizabeth The Great. What a fitting expression.

Livelovebehappy · 08/09/2022 19:45

She was all most of us have known in our lifetime, and it’s upsetting to lose someone who was a constant in our lives.

ChickenGotLegs · 08/09/2022 19:45

Why has it taken Harry so long to get there? Wasn't he already in London?
