She lived long enough to see out the tosser Borris. I loved her before but she deff held out to see him off

KennAdams · 08/09/2022 19:26

What a woman. Her commitment and dedication was second to none. ❤️

Puzzledandpissedoff · 08/09/2022 19:27

Rest in peace, ma'am, and may be bereaved find comfort

Truly the end of an era

GettingStuffed · 08/09/2022 19:27

She was 96 and active until very recently. I probably sound very uncaring but I've a 91 year old with dementia wondering where her parents are with me. She had a good life

The campaign group "Republic" has tweeted:
"There will be plenty of time to debate the monarchy’s future. For now, we must respect the family's personal loss and allow them and others to mourn the loss of a mother, grandmother and great grandmother."

flapjackfairy · 08/09/2022 19:27

like many others I feel v tearful and incredibly sad. What an amazing lady !
it feels like another momentous change . One too many after the last few years !

JulyDreams · 08/09/2022 19:27

Does anyone feel a deep sense of isolation and feeling 'alone'? She was much loved by us all and I always felt very protected by the queen

FreyaStorm · 08/09/2022 19:28

RIP Elizabeth The Great.

She was one of a kind.

TroysMammy · 08/09/2022 19:28

I got a bit emotional when I saw artwork on Facebook of the back of the Queen, Paddington Bear on her right and a corgi on her left. Beautifully done.

RIP Your Majesty❤️

Well, that's just finished me off. Proper crying now.

GoingOnce · 08/09/2022 19:28

I liked her so much. What an extraordinary woman. We have been so lucky to have her.

flapjackfairy · 08/09/2022 19:29

@JulyDreams
Yes she was an anchor for our whole nation . She will be v sadly missed.

RampantIvy · 08/09/2022 19:29

We were in the pub. The TV was on but with the sound off, then we noticed the flag was at half mast. The landlord announced that she had died and put the volume on, and we all stood up while they played the national anthem. I shed a tear and so did some of the others.

RMT has called the next two strike days off out of respect.

Really?
That's a very sensible, pragmatic decision.

Prime Ministers, football managers and technologies came and went. She was unchanging.

Sally99 · 08/09/2022 19:30

Incredibly sad. RIP Your Majesty. Long live The King

Impressed.

Amazing lady, worked until the very end. Who else would work until they were 96? I know Charles and Anne were with her but I do hope Andrew, Edward, Sophie and William arrived to be with her at the end. Harry not at Edinburgh yet.

Mooshamoo · 08/09/2022 19:31

I live in Spain. I want to go to the funeral. I really want to be with everyone in London. I hope they announce when exactly the funeral will be, so I can get flights sorted. I imagine that a lot of Brits will want to fly home for it. It is homing birds wanting to go home to respect someone we loved.

Kellie45 · 08/09/2022 19:32

The Telegraph has some pictures of the Queen throughout her life. What a stunningly beautiful woman she was! No wonder Philip fell for her!

Underthehills · 08/09/2022 19:32

Even my husband cried. I’m surprised how sad I feel that my daughter won’t grow up with a queen as a role model. I hadn’t realised how much Her Majesty inspired a sense that women can do anything. Very glad she was able to experience the nation’s love and appreciation at the Jubilee. Rest in peace.

RIP. Your duty is done, Ma'am.

We will probably never be as united as we are now whatever our differences. We are human all too human. RIP

RosaMoline · 08/09/2022 19:33

Rest easy Ma’am & thank you for a lifetime of service to our country & the commonwealth ❤️

EmotionalSupportLynel · 08/09/2022 19:34

I'm like so many here, shocked at how much this is affecting me. In tears. She's always been here, a constant, with a good heart and so much kindness. It feels like an end of an era. 😢
