If you're not moved then just scroll on

Not until you show me your official thread police badge.

Would you go to Buckingham Palace and gloat? Somehow I doubt it.

Well no. I couldn't be arsed and it'd be the equivalent of shouting at clouds considering how close I'd get but I doubt that the Royal Family are reading here so they're unlikely to be upset by my remarks. I do feel for them btw as human beings because they've lost a family member but I'm not going to pretend to join in with the fawning.

Dodie66 · 08/09/2022 20:27

Sad and upset here too. Do we get told the time and cause of death or is it kept private? I admired her and her work ethic. R.I.P your majesty

IHateWasps · 08/09/2022 20:27

I was surprised by the mass hysteria when Diana died as I felt none of it...did I broadcast my opinion or just keep my mouth shut out of respect?

I neither know nor care.

I think our Queen will be remembered as Elizabeth the Great. RIP

I love this. She was a phenomenonal role model - truly dedicated but also with a gentle touch and much smarter than some of those she was surrounded by. I hope she gave Liz Truss a bit of meaningful advice about service and duty.

YoniWheretheSunDontShine · 08/09/2022 20:28

She was a constant, always there even in the background with all the uncertainty we face in the UK and in the world.

She was greeting the new pm two day's ago.
It's shocking.

End of an era. Amazing service and rock.

God save the king.

Here is the Albanian take - interesting what pictures they have chosen - for those interested in a non British view point. Top Channel The news channels are all running it as top story / beating the alleged iran cyber attack,

Some beautiful pictures of the queen there.

RIP. Quite jarring, the way the BBC immediately talked about 'The King', although I know that's the tradition and what she would have wanted.

"The Queen is Dead, long live the king."
The sovereign never dies.

She was the world's greatest diplomat, who had a very good understanding of people, according to ITV.

I was doing okay until I saw all the taxis lined up on The Mall... 💔 💔 💔

I've been in tears all afternoon. Its so weird. I don't cry when singers, actors die but this - its like someone I've known for a very long time has died.

Crikeyalmighty · 08/09/2022 20:42

I'm not a royalist but I am so sad that the last few years of her life) were such tumultuous quite unhappy ones, a PM who lied to her face, covid, death of Philip, Andrew, Harry and Meghan etc .

she was a very dedicated public servant and from someone I know who worked in the household a very sharp cookie and a good judge of character . Apparently she was very fond of labour PMs !

RIP

Nanalisa60 · 08/09/2022 20:44

It's strange isn't it?
I think we remember those that have died too
It is sad .

Ewetoo · 08/09/2022 20:47

I'm Irish, born & bred in Galway& I've been crying on & off all day. It's so sad, she was a wonderful lady & was just fabulous when she visited Dublin in 2011.

KermitlovesKeyLimePie · 08/09/2022 20:49

I bet Angela Kelly is devastated.

MyStarBoy · 08/09/2022 20:56

XingMing · 08/09/2022 21:02

Proper job, ma'am. You personified dignity for 70 years, rode all the waves. RIP. You will be missed, not least for the marmelade sandwiches.

XingMing · 08/09/2022 21:03

And the Bond gig.

bluetongue · 08/09/2022 21:04

It’s sad, yet dying at home and not lingering with no dignity in a hospital at 96 is what most of us would want. Such a strong, proud woman.

RIP.

Heyyebskeikwbevg · 08/09/2022 21:06

“Thank you your majesty….for everything”. Well said Paddington!

Did she wear a blue and yellow dress in support of Ukraine?

OriginalFloorboards · 08/09/2022 21:09

I didn’t expect to cry.

What a queen.

Thank you ma’am.

YesitsBess · 08/09/2022 21:15

My mother and I have never seen eye to eye on the monarchy. But even we can agree that this is a lovely photo.

The Queen has passed away.
the80sweregreat · 08/09/2022 21:16

It is a nice photo!
It's funny
