I'm the world's most unlucky person but what about you guys? My friend one a kitchen uo to the value of £15k a few years ago and a girl in my town won her dream wedding. What have you won?

Wow, Sugar magazine! That takes me back! I had a subscription to that magazine. Loved picking it up from the local shop.

There was a magazine I read before that, for younger girls… I can’t remember the name, ‘Girl something’? I remember getting a free choker necklace with it and wearing it all the time. The black lace and silver flower charm on it.

I was so excited when I ‘graduated’ to the more grown up Sugar magazine 😆

I remember that - was it Girl Talk magazine?

I won a years supply of tea. It was amazing. They had a very different definition of a years supply though, I think I finished it in 6 months!!

I won a massive jar of sweets as a child. I don't think I was meant to win the way I did - it was guess the number. I think they had failed to cover up the weight of the jar and I guesstimated the weight of a single sweet, divided one by the other and voila I was within about 3 sweets of the actual number...

Sadly I don't think I have had any more exotic wins, though I get £25 on the premium bonds once every couple of months.

You were a really clever kid!

Justonedayatatime11 · 05/09/2022 23:26

I was lucky enough last week to win a certain brands new winter collection of shoes/boots/handbags etc. Worth around 2k. Didn't stop pinching myself until it actually turned up!

£2.38 about two years ago in the National Lottery.

But at least I can now honestly say that I have won the lottery !

Backrollz · 05/09/2022 23:35

I won a year's supply of chocolate from Nestlé whilst at primary school. Don't like anything sweet now, would prefer a years supply of crisps 🤤

Sausagis · 05/09/2022 23:41

Week before Christmas and was worrying I hadn't got my kids much (but what I could afford). Got an email I'd won a dancing Elmo toy, in the post just in time for Xmas!!! Was sooo happy 😁

£250 from in John Lewis vouchers from a mumsnet competition :)

Louise0701 · 05/09/2022 22:37

@Tarkan oh wow, I’m jealous you’ve been on the chase!!

It was almost 10 years ago now but it's still probably the coolest thing I've ever done. I was always the sort of person to shout at the TV and then I went on and had a total brain fart. It took me so long to get down the board they actually edited out a couple of questions neither of us got right. Blush I still don't know how I managed it in the end as I was absolutely petrified once I was there. Bradley smelled amazing though. Grin

free pizza for a year at a pizza chain! to the value of £400, it was a brilliant year 😁

holidaynightmare · 06/09/2022 07:07

I entered a competition to win a new kitchen I was only 16! I entered in my mums name in "Good Housekeeping" and she won and was over the moon

Focalpoint · 06/09/2022 07:42

When I was in Primary 1, the school had a raffle with all the prizes stacked on a table, including those massive cuddly toys. There was one winner from each class. I was told I won from my class and was taken to the table, all excited to claim the giant cuddly toy. But they had started with Primary 7 and worked their way downwards with each winner choosing i prize. When I got there all that was left was my prize - a casserole dish! Still haven't got over the disappointment.

I had a bit of a comping phase and won loads. I won a top of the range Miele washing machine and matching tumble drier, with a 5 star trip to Sydney to redesign my utility room with a top designer. That was amazing, the hotel was incredible and I bloody love my fancy washing machine and drier (they were worth $4500 AUD EACH! Shock

But the prize that was most fun, I got tp open an Aldi! Smile. I cut the ribbon and got to go in first and pick $500 of groceries. My picture was in the paper and everyone I know took the piss out of me for months. Grin.

Actually I must get into it again, it was a pretty lucrative hobby.

A bottle of bubble bath at a tombola over the weekend which leaked into my bag...

JubileeTrifle · 06/09/2022 08:06

Years and years ago I won a few holidays but not much since!

FruitPastilleNut · 06/09/2022 08:10

We got 5 numbers on the lottery a few years ago which was very exciting at the time - I was almost hyperventilating checking the numbers, I thought we'd won a big chunk!

It was a bit disappointing finding out it was only about £1600 😂 - 5 numbers feels like loads!

FayeGovan · 06/09/2022 08:19

Jeezo, 5 numbers and I'd be chucking my job😁

Then regretting it

Delabruche · 06/09/2022 08:20

I won a Go Pro camera thing from a competition on a cereal box. As a teenager I won some gas powered curling tongs that I used for years.

Elderflower14 · 06/09/2022 08:38

Ds2 won tickets to Percy Pigs 30th birthday in London in July and invited me to go with him... Was great fun!! 🐽 🐽 🐽 🐽 🐽 🐽 🐽 🐽 🐽 🐽 🐽

RightDressingDown · 06/09/2022 08:50

Dh won a trip to Goa all expenses paid for two and decided it was impractical for the kids to go, so he handed the holiday back and it was auctioned for charity - we hadn't had a holiday in 4 years - it took me a little while to feel charitable about it!😂

stormelf · 06/09/2022 08:52

I won this year's body shop advent calendar on a £1 raffle ticket. My 4 year old is more excited than me, mainly because it's full of lots of drawers and boxes to open. I am quite excited though as I never get anything for myself (well sort of for myself as said 4 year old has already offered to share it with me)

cupidsabsolutepsyche · 06/09/2022 09:11

I once won a Crayola crayon carousel from a competition in a kids magazine. Think I was about 7, I had no idea until it arrived in the post, ages after I'd sent my little entry slip. SO exciting!

I won £50 at a school raffle, it was in the 80's so a huge amount of money to a kid. I spent some on a my little pony and my mum made me put the rest in premium bonds. Hmmm, I wonder if they are still valid?!

As an adult, a few scratchcard wins including £15 from one I got one Mother's Day, I bought a plant and a book. Best win recently though was a seafood beach picnic in Cornwall, we had lobster, oysters and ice cold white wine for lunch, bloody fantastic!

stopitstopitnow · 06/09/2022 09:14

Not me, but many years ago my dad won the state lottery in NSW Australis. It bought us a 6 week cruise back to the UK when we returned after his posting had ended.

stopitstopitnow · 06/09/2022 09:15

*Australia...if only MN could win enough to have an edit button added.

HailAdrian · 06/09/2022 09:17

Some perfume in a Sugar magazine competition.
