What was this kids' book?

I was a child of the very early 80s and I recently had a memory of a much-loved book but I can't find it anywhere as my memory of the book is so vague!

It was a picture book about a girl who lost her favourite cuddly toy (could have been a teddy or a rabbit) and the story is about the toy's journey back to her.

Seeing the Brambly Hedge books reminded me of the illustrations but it's not that illustrator. There's one particular image I remember of the toy in a stream and a bridge.

Can anyone help?!

I had a story about a lost doll. I vaguely remember it also featured a toy soldier and possibly a stuffed donkey.

I also thought Alpaca in the Park.

I thought Tatty Ratty too, it's actually about a rabbit and has beautiful illustrations.

The Forgotten Bear or The Jumble Bears by Molly Brett? These are older but I’m an 80s child and read them

Was also going to suggest to The Jumble Bears. I read this in the early 80s. Had quite a few in the same series.

Katie Morag and the Tiresome Ted? Also an early 80s child and I have a vivid memory of ted’s eye being sewn back on.

You might be thinking of the Adventures of the Little Wooden Horse. I never re-read it as a child as it was utterly traumatic! I remember being so upset but kept reading - like those "misery porn" books people were into.

Little Teddy Left Behind?

Was the girl called Jenny? It sounds familiar!

I REALLY do think she was called Jenny but I didn't say that as I thought I was misremembering!!!

The Foxwood Tales books have similar sort of illustrations - or perhaps Percy the Park-keeper - but they're 'real' animals not toys. Might be worth a look?
