As the summer comes to an end, what excites you about autumn?

I am weird but I love this time of year. Things I look forward to are..
• chunky knits
• nice boots
• that feeling when your freezing and you walk into a warm building
• buying nice candles
• settling down with the kids on a sat night to watch a movie with treats ( normally they play out till Bath/bed time in summer)

I'm sure there's more.

What's yours ?

Autumn can be okay in itself, but once that passed I basically just spent the time lookomg forward to Spring.
And hopefully managing a winter sun holiday!

Autumn clothes are more interesting (layers/ knits/ coatigans/ tights and boots)

I spent all summer looking longingly at the new summer clothes that I hadn't worn. I prefer to wear fewer clothes not more. I like a good cardigan, but wearing several layers makes me feel constrained.

Darker/ longer evenings do make me feel more relaxed and less like I should be outdoors seeing to the garden/ having company etc

I'm the opposite. The long dark evenings give me cabin fever. I love pottering in my garden on a warm evening or going for a walk.

We are all different.

I agree about the wasps and flies though.

I had to wear my warm coat and gloves (ffs) on my early morning dog walk today. That’s not even funny - it’s August fgs.
