11+ this September. How is everyone?

My child sits 11+ in September. Just wondering how others in the same position are getting on?

We had plans to do a mock paper for each subject each week but er haven't done that. They've done some bits here and ther andare plodding through some papers this week.

I have the 10min tests we will keep it ticking over with and they are going to do an external mock test.

I am starting to get so anxious for them. They are naturally bright but we could have done more prep than we have...

Only a few weeks to go! I'm thinking of planning something fun for after the test. And maybe not do much the few days before.

Anyone else?

Good luck @snowballer
Friday for us….

Good luck to you too! 🤞🤞

He passed! I can finally sleep at night again

livingthegoodlife · 19/10/2022 16:13

Passed here too! Yes from the 3 grammar options 😅

ShouldntHaveBeenSoHasty · 19/10/2022 16:58

Are you in Torbay too @livingthegoodlife? I’m now worrying that he’s not going to get a place as there’s no indicator as to how much he’s passed by 😬

Howmanysleepsnow · 19/10/2022 17:56

Well done! Brilliant news.
As an aside, How does pass/ fail work? Is a pass not a guarantee of a place then?

livingthegoodlife · 19/10/2022 18:09

No indication of how much passed by, nothing is certain until results are posted. Another waiting game begins!

Howmanysleepsnow · 19/10/2022 18:55

So they tell you you passed, but actual results are separate? We don’t get pass or fail, just “you can have a place”, “you’re on the waiting list and stand a chance if people don’t take up places” or “don’t even put us as an option cos you aren’t getting in”

Howmanysleepsnow · 19/10/2022 18:56

When do you get the next results?

ShouldntHaveBeenSoHasty · 19/10/2022 21:19

No indication at all where I am in Torbay. Just whether you passed for the 3 available grammars. The one I want ds to go to has a similar pass mark to one of the others and there’s a third school with a grammar stream that has a lower pass mark. All I know is that he passed enough to apply to any of them. Applications have to be in by the end of October then it’s just waiting to until March. I’m a bit worried as absolutely everyone I know whose child did it passed. The people I know are almost enough to make up the year group alone 😬
