Just discovered you can't say the name of place on Reddit that spends a lot of time talking about this website.

Exactly that's why for the first one I said the place on reddit that spends their life reading here

Do you spend your life reading there?

picklemewalnuts · 23/08/2022 13:45

I feel for the mods when particular posters open their mouths. They must sigh and head for the biscuit cupboard to stock up before settling in for a tedious afternoon.

@purple12345678

Are you going to work through the book 'Filthy English' (currently available on Ebay for around three pounds) until you find all the which words you can't use on here?

I hope so, as there's nothing really on telly I want to watch!

Yes I can’t remember an August so boring. I’ve been tidying my desk drawers all morning.

picklemewalnuts · 23/08/2022 13:46

You aren't Paul, are you Slappers?

There are 12-14 million unique users a month on here. It's the biggest gathering of women in history. Hence its influence. And the reason its targeted. Being viewed dimly by certain people is inevitable sexism.

And if the posts you speak about aren't deleted, can you link to them?

As amusing as I'd find doing that, probably not...

Kept me entertained for a good 10 minutes of my train journey though so that'll have to do

Is it really?

I’ll have to dress better.

purple12345678 · 23/08/2022 13:49

No I don't bother even reading there occasionally. It's as dull and predictable as anything.

A man's name beginning with T....

Who might be Nice-but-Dim. I'm miffed about not being able to use that one as I think it's a lot clearer and less confusing than the one we are allowed to use, but there we go.

The quid pro quo is we can't use the word that rhymes with hiss either, and I'm pleased about that as I dislike it.

No direct references allowed to a word that rhymes with wettish.

We're on dodgy ground with a word which would be fine used with another meaning on S&B or any pet-related thread about keeping their coats in good condition. Rhymes with booming. Best avoided.

(All the above are specific rules for FWR.)

No links anywhere on MN allowed going straight to a fundraising webpage, but it's easy enough to allude to that.

No begging posts allowed (good).

Petitions and media requests allowed, but only on their own boards.

No links allowed direct to archive sites. I think they're automodded. That would be for copyright reasons.

Nope. Mumsnet are more lenient when people criticise behaviour. Not people.

Saying drag is a mockery of womanhood is behaviour, not people.

roarfeckingroarr · 23/08/2022 13:59

We can't refer to TIMs anymore?

Even though it's an accurate description?

Righto

HinchcliffeandMurgatroyd · 23/08/2022 14:00

No not allowed @roarfeckingroarr
