Vogue Williams SLAMS passenger who refused to swap seats with her on plane because Vogue had booked the wrong seat.

Yes, Vogue. Other people should do what you say and be disadvantaged because YOU booked the wrong seat.

@Arbesque

I wasn't meaning the 🙄 to be rude, so I apologise for that. I meant it in response to your faux-naive response to my other post, about Vogue embellishing her story. Let's agree to disagree!

EarringsandLipstick · 20/08/2022 16:53

@SheldonesqueTheBstard

Thank you!

It's probably a silly topic to be exercised about, whether that's me or others. As I said on the other thread, I don't know Vogue personally but all public appearances till now demonstrate a decent person, and I didn't like the bile heaped on her on the other thread. I agree with your assessment of a complete misstep on her part thinking it was funny, but actually having talked up a story beyond what she really did / said.

Once again, a reminder for me to possibly hang around MN a little less!

WomanStanleyWoman2 · 20/08/2022 17:09

Has she actually said she exaggerated the story for effect, or is it just your assumption?

QuebecBagnet · 20/08/2022 17:18

I haven’t seen anywhere where she’s said she was exaggerating so I can only assume she actually said it because she herself says she said it. Although I do think she has a faint grasp on the truth because afaik you’re not allowed to carry a buggy on the plane, it goes in the hold?

No she hasn't (that I'm aware of)

I thought I made it clear - this is my understanding based on knowing her presenting style & the style of her podcasts. It's also a very usual story-telling device which many people employ, not necessarily famous / celebs.

I'm not writing extensive precursor to my comment because well, it's fairly obvious what I mean and not everything needs to be spelled out.

As I said, a misstep on the humour front, implausibly unlikely she actually swore at / about a fellow passenger when on the plane.

Hope that lengthy reply satisfies you!

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 20/08/2022 17:21

God I really do hope she wasn’t calling folk shites or twats on the plane woman 🫣

I suspect other folk on the plane would have been all over it like a Labrador on chips if she had. SM shitestorm if you will.

Like a lot of folk, I think she has embellished it. I actually really hope she has succumbed temporarily to gobshitery. Because that would be easier to come back from than a nasty tirade in public.

I don’t think she’s a bad egg. I think she has really misjudged her version of it for the sake of entertaining listeners. Or I hope that is the case.

But people don't usually say in advance of embellishing a story 'I'm embellishing a story'. She was talking ad lib, goes OTT, makes herself sound rude & unpleasant.

If she actually did behave like that on the plane, she'd have been taken to task by the airline.

Look; I'm not supporting the attitude or behaviour, but the endless nitpicking over this & deduction that she's awful & entitled isn't merited. She's never given that impression in public life before, that I've observed.

Sorry - x posted with earrings

I think by the looks of it we hold a fairly similar opinion on it. Except she says it better!

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 20/08/2022 17:25

You spooky bugger! 👻

That's hilarious. As we cross post with our cross posts 😂

I actually was thinking that you'd expressed it better - really! We are possibly inadvertently sounding sock-puppety (we're really not!)

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 20/08/2022 17:27

Or we could both be Mrs Spenny 🤣

although it would be easier to look at that reflection in my mirror on a far flung island 🏝

To offer some balance....it was the guy's rudeness & attitude that they were criticising, not the fact that he refused. I like her! My therapist ghosted me is a hilarious pod.

What rudeness?

diddl · 20/08/2022 18:20

The man didn't just say no, he said no Spencer I won't. As though he was doing it to prove a point

The way I read it he was only answering in the way he was asked.

He was asked would he mind & he said that yes he would.

She then goes on to say that "when he realised he was being a twat" he agreed.

What a dreadful thing to say about someone who then agrees to help you.

In fact when I first read it I wondered if the man was making a joke?

"Yes I would mind"-but with the intention of doing it anyway?

Can't see how he would have been a twat if he hadn't anyway.

RainbowsMoonbeams · 19/08/2022 18:25

Am I the only one who has no idea who she is?!

No

Skodacool · 20/08/2022 20:52

Like others I suggest she could see when she booked that the aisle seat was taken so she decided she would ‘persuade’ the occupant to give it up.

Honkytonky12 · 20/08/2022 22:05

How is this thread still going? Every other one has been deleted. Even if she did exaggerate the story she has got it terribly wrong and misjudged the response she would get. She was completely in the wrong.
