Are these dresses too "tennis" for a business meeting?

I have a business meeting in a couple of weeks and given the weather I want to wear something as fresh as possible, ideally sleeveless.

Bottom 2 are fine, top 2 are definitely tennis! She even has a racquet!

minipie · 11/08/2022 10:50

Bottom left is VERY short though!

Hoppinggreen · 11/08/2022 10:51

Bit short I would say

Agree, top 2 are too obviously tennis and they are all too short for a formal meeting.

ReviewingTheSituation · 11/08/2022 10:54

I'd say they're too short for the vast majority of work meetings! I have no problem with sleeveless for work (it's fine in the industry I work in), but those are properly short!

NoodleNuts · 11/08/2022 10:54

The bottom two are tennis dresses as well, the additional photos on the website have that module with a tennis raquet and mention getting kudos on court!

Is your business meeting on centre court of Wimbledon by any chance? If not, I would wonder wht on earth you rocked up in sports wear.

emmathedilemma · 11/08/2022 10:55

in a word......yes

NoodleNuts · 11/08/2022 10:55

Model

SpringIntoChaos · 11/08/2022 10:55

If you have to ask...🤦‍♀️

MagicMatilda · 11/08/2022 10:55

Personally I don’t think they are appropriate. They look very tennis/sporty.

GinasGirl · 11/08/2022 10:57

Maybe leave the tennis racquet at home?
Wink

Skirt part should be just above the knee at the absolute shortest for work dress. Remember if you sit down or bend, it will look even shorter than when standing up straight.

Sleeveless is fine as long as not strappy or too low cut.

Onlyrainbows · 11/08/2022 10:58

I can only find smart casual maxi dresses. I know the client were visiting is very informal, and I'm sure my colleagues will show up in jeans and a polo.

Yes, something sold specifically as a tennis dress is to much like a tennis dress to wear to a business meeting.

ClocksGoingBackwards · 11/08/2022 11:00

A maxi dress would be better than a tennis dress.

^ This. It would look far too 'Look at me I'm Emma' for my liking.

There’s a huge difference between jeans and a polo and one of these dresses tbh!

Bigchezemakeme · 11/08/2022 11:01

Of all the clothes and all the shops in the UK the only appropriate thing you can find to wear to a business meeting is a tennis dress. How bizarre?! Wear literally any other summer dress perhaps?

Onlyrainbows · 11/08/2022 11:01

I'm too short for maxi dresses (I have to wear wedges with platforms!)

BarbaraofSeville · 11/08/2022 11:01

What about one of these?

SteveHarringtonsChestHair · 11/08/2022 11:02

There’s a whole world of dresses between “maxi” and “I can see your breakfast”

Chemenger · 11/08/2022 11:03

M&S has 59 sleeveless knee length dresses, I’m sure there would be something suitable there.
