Are these dresses too "tennis" for a business meeting?

I have a business meeting in a couple of weeks and given the weather I want to wear something as fresh as possible, ideally sleeveless.

This is fun although maybe a bit more dressy than you are looking for.

This and this have dressed up tennis dress vibes, I think.

Another option is this Max Mara dress -- bit pricey but pretty casual and easy

I did think of a trench dress. The second Karen Millen one is nice but I'm concerned might end up being too long for me

Here are a few suggestions if you haven't quite made up your mind:

Dress 1

Dress 2

Dress 3

Dress 4

Dress 5

The last next one is best of the lot, but something my DM would definitely wear, so maybe not

I'm am also very short OP. 5ft 1in if I stretch. I take my dresses (and everything else) down to the local dry cleaners for hemming/taking in, sleeve shortening etc). There are 4 in our high st and all offer alteration). It's normally next day collection but they know me pretty well now so will do same day in an emergency. It's not expensive, for a very full skirt it might be £12.

A couple of weeks ago I took in some lovely wrap dresses that gape so much I had to wear a camisole underneath for decency. Normally that's fine but in the heatwave even a cami was a layer too many. The lovely lady in my favourite cleaners stitched an invisible line joining the two sides of the wrap so now I can wear them without exposing my bra. She measured it perfectly so they hang straight, it cost £5 each and she did them in the time it took to do a Tesco shop.

I love white dresses with a tennis/ preppy look and I think without the racket they wouldn't be too tennis. You can buy similar in fashion stores..

But they are too short for business.

God no. You seriously need to ask? Hmm

Onlyrainbows · 11/08/2022 15:54

That oasis one is nice but zips up at the back

How about this

rumourlondon.com/collections/dresses/products/marie-red

It was on another thread asking if they could wear it for a wedding.
I think you like bold blocks of colour

LookItsMeAgain · 11/08/2022 16:03

Plenty of the dresses we've suggested would work but I actually think this is what you need to buy instead: www.amazon.co.uk/NRS-Healthcare-Button-Eligible-Relief/dp/B00A7ULVHE or perhaps this : www.amazon.co.uk/Dresses-Zipper-Zipping-Yourself-Assistant/dp/B0B4JM3PCL/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?crid=CTWGUX4M1DF5

Onlyrainbows · 11/08/2022 16:03
