Are these dresses too "tennis" for a business meeting?

I have a business meeting in a couple of weeks and given the weather I want to wear something as fresh as possible, ideally sleeveless.

Are these dresses too "tennis" for a business meeting?

Also surely being able to zip up a dress at the back depends on mobility, shoulder tightness, flexibility, arm length, size and shape? A lot of people can't bend and touch their toes let alone zip up something on their backs. Great if you can but don't be too self-congratulatory that you have this ability and astonished that others don't. Bit bloody insensitive.

But mobility, shoulder tightness and flexibility are all within our control - it’s concerning that women are limiting what they do based upon these things - women should be encouraged to keep strong and flexible for their health and mobility throughout life - this is what’s concerning.

so no I don’t think my comments were insensitive and fyi I have a longer then average body (buying swimwear is a nightmare) and average length arms.

I've got this and get loads of wear out of it.

@KittyMcKitty there are plenty, plenty of people who's mobility and flexibility is absolutely not within their control for various reasons.... a longer than average body and short arms is not the biggest physical issue that some people face

Dotcheck · 11/08/2022 13:21

OP
Too short

@Gaveitall you work with complete assholes

Onlyrainbows · 11/08/2022 13:21

Hmm, I feel that you've gone from tennis court to possibly wedding guest? Not something I'd wear to a meeting where the benchmark is tshirt and jeans? You're after some middle ground here, it does exist!

Dotcheck · 11/08/2022 13:22

Btw, OP- Vinted has a zillion dresses

That’s lovely. But it’s not casual and not really work wear. It’s a dress you’d wear to a wedding. Or the races.

These are lovely and there is a matching bomber style jacket, you could wear with a vest top

KittyMcKitty · 11/08/2022 13:23

@GreenManalishi i totally understand that and we n my original post I did make reference to this - I think you’re taking my comments out of context. And I don’t think I’ve suggested a long body is a problem for anything other then buying swimwear (and obviously that’s not a real problem)!?!

I just feel that able bodied women shouldn’t just accept lack of mobility and flexibility for their healths sake as much as anything (doing up a dress would be an added bonus).

so apologies if I offended but you took my comment completely out of context!

Why? The goal is to look like you're on a beach holiday, when you're on a beach holiday. Your aim, so you don't feel over/under/inappropriately dressed is to dress like you're at an informal business meeting. There's the brief.

minipie · 11/08/2022 13:26

quickquickslow · 11/08/2022 13:27

If you like the polo dress style, why don't you look for one with a longer hem length?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 11/08/2022 13:41

Is this thread a joke?!

You want to look like you're at a beach party or playing tennis - for a business meeting?

There are so many potential dresses you could go for, if you don't mind sleeveless. The problems tend to come when you want nice fabric and a sleeve of some sort.
