Please recommend me your air fryers, for a family of 2 adults and 2 children - I am looking to be able to cook things in it instead of the oven

Thanks

Throwing this one out there - the tower 11 in 1

I love it

ddeey · 09/08/2022 20:17

@abigail225 you put a liner in your ninja?
I had one previously and LOVED it - but became increasingly hard to clean as if just super bakes the grease/dirt on! You may have just solved it! I would be worried it would melt at those temps as my oven liner that i use in the oven says not to use over 200 or something stupid (i do though). What liners do you use?

I have the Ninja af400. It has 2 drawers and is amazing!

I'm looking at the smaller one, af300.

How long do chicken breasts and salmon take to cook ?

Am thinking of the cheaper two drawer Ninja Air Fryer but will struggle with space for it.

One of my questions is whether I will still need my Microwave if I have one or whether it could replace the Microwave on the bench.

I’ve wondered the same thing. I could make space for a ninja if I got rid of the microwave. I only use it for packet rice or to start jacket potatoes before finishing in the oven 🤦🏻‍♀️

I think it is Porridge (which I could make in a saucepan) and ready meals (rare) for me.

Am wondering if the ready meals could be heated in the Air Fryer if I decanted them into a bowl. Or do I not really understand how the Air Fryer works?

Also does the Air Fryer give off much steam. It would be in my Utility where I also dry clothes.

Thank you everyone!! I have ordered the ninja foodi pro max. Lots of money but looks good and you all seem to like them!! Thank you for the help

@TheSleeperandTheSpindle Unfortunately I use my microwave as a shelf, it holds Amazon echo, phone charger, smart meter and a wax burner, I'm debating getting rid of the toaster though.

TankFlyBoss · 09/08/2022 21:47

Please can you now tell me about cooking jacket potatoes in it!!

I had a ninja but gave it to my mum and changed to a Cosori 5.5ltr as much better for a family I found.

I love the Cosori.

ArcheryAnnie · 09/08/2022 22:04

Ninja for me, too. I don't have an oven, but now I have a ninja, I wouldn't go back to a full-size oven anyway. It's priceless.

Had baked potatoes this evening! Bunged a couple of washed potatoes in, put on for 10 mins, turned over, put on for another 10 minutes, then put on for final 10 minutes.

Did them the other night, too, but kept on wandering off - and found that the time in-between putting the heating element on was still cooking it, so they needed less "on" time.

So easy.

RainCloud · 09/08/2022 22:13

Great thread.

TankFlyBoss · 09/08/2022 22:14

Fabulous thanks @ArcheryAnnie - I'm order the foodi grill / air fryer combo - did you cook your spud on air fryer setting if yours is also a combo? Sorry, I am a newbie!

I have the ninja af160 which is single drawer, 5.2l. Great for chips, toasted sandwiches, rashers, garlic bread, roasted vegetables. I did a whole chicken in it once as well. Great addition to the kitchen!

marshmallowbooks · 09/08/2022 22:18

I've had 3 different ones.

Ninja ALL. DAY. LONG.

Tiggy321 · 09/08/2022 16:06

Instant Pot Vortex. It's fab and can fit a whole roast chicken!

I have this. Life changing. Not used my oven since I got it. I had an Actifry before and it was shite. Put me off air fryers for years but this is just great!

Mine is a bog standard 1-drawer ninja AF100, and I just did it on the AF setting. Didn't even preheat!

This one

Sodie · 09/08/2022 22:24

Ninja af400 honestly worth every penny.

Marasme · 09/08/2022 22:28

this is so tempting! great thread

i have a question - can the ninja foodi accommodate 2 different types of foods? or is it a single pot?

i use the oven for
bread baking
cake baking
veg roasting
oven chips
casseroles

i d love a more economical alternative!

GhostCastle · 09/08/2022 22:34

To those who own a Ninja grill & air fryer combo, can you cook a decent sized frozen pizza in it?

I've got Ninja 14 in 1 and that had a ready meal function.
Best thing I've ever bought. Basically anything I'd use the oven for but it cooks quicker, at a lower temperature and doesn't need preheating. Absolute witchcraft.
Mine also has pressure cooker and slow cooker functions and can use it on saute and hob settings too. A friend of ours takes theirs camping! It's a beast - big and heavy, but we love it so much. It's been used daily since we got it 2 months ago.
Cheese on toast- 1 min 30. Large full chicken? 1 hour.
General rule.is deduct 10 degrees and reduce cooking time by 5-10%, bit trial and error at first but you soon start to get a gauge for it

Elsiid · 09/08/2022 22:37

I can't decide between the ninja with two drawers and the maxi grill one. Anyone tried both?

tobee · 09/08/2022 22:43

Proscenic T21. It's brilliant. It's 5,5l and one drawer. Use it every day.

It's also Wi-Fi compatible so you can turn it on remotely.
