What things horrify and fascinate you at the same time?

I'm petrified of oceans and seas - deep waters in general. But I'm also completely obsessed with it too; I'll watch anything to do with marine life, oceans, sharks (😱) even though it scares the shit out of me. I live on the coast and love it, but jeez-oh it scares me.

What about you?

The Byford Dolphin accident (people killed by explosive decompression).

Unit 731 (human experimentation)

Just found myself reading more about the Nutty Putty cave incidents. There’s a few photos of people coming out some of the tunnels. They’re tiny. Wouldn’t catch me in them!

Cliffs, caves and the sea, I always think of screeching pterodactyls and it gives me the creeps.

Fatarseflanagan09 · 14/08/2022 09:55

Empty train stations, I always think about WW1and all the soldiers that never came home, especially creepy if there’s one of those old waiting rooms.

For anyone still watching this thread, I visited ladybower reservoir today and some of the ruins of the submerged village are visible. Beautiful and haunting place.

Cases of missing people, like the Springfield Three, Lars Mittank, Asha Degree, Kyron Hormon. I find it fascinating that people can be here one minute, disappear the next, and never be seen again or their bodies found. Fascinating but terrifying.

So agree!

The Andrew Gosden case has always fascinated me. Hoping for it to be solved one day!

Caving or potholing makes me feel claustrophobic- that nutty putty cave thing is horrible

Also diving in caves makes me feel uncomfortable

I also don’t like going up spiral staircases when you can’t see the top
