Just been thinking it's a while and I might make one.

Anyone know any fabulous recipes?

Easter time- I made one with leftover hot Cross buns

Bread pudding: last time I had that was probably March. To me it's delicious winter stodge.
Bread and butter pudding: had it to weeks ago in hospital, really light and spongy served with proper custard. Delicious.

Not tried the savoury version, but it sounds amazing.

Probably a few months. I love them, but not so much in hotter weather.

There is a difference between bread pudding and bread and butter pudding. I never eat bread pudding. It always makes me wonder if those who say they don't like it are imagining bread pudding.

Hate both but was referring to bread and butter pudding in this instance.

Lightning020 · 28/07/2022 07:03

Both are tasty and I have not eaten either in such a long time.

I have made the Delia Smith bread and butter pudding in the past. Delicious.

Been a while... but always used a brioche loaf/rolls & the biggest juiciest sultanas or stem ginger I could find & real butter of course😋 my Ddad used to LOVE it & I even made it for a local cafe - sold as a 'solid' but squishy treat to be eaten hot or cold

I had to Google bread pudding.
It looks really good, unlike it's soggy, eggy companion.

I used to make a summer fruit bread & butter pudding. Can't find the exact recipe online but there are lots of similar ones. I am also a fan of the crunchy outside pieces.

Mind you I now have diabetes so maybe not the best role model for pudding recommendation.

Too long. I love it but nobody else in the family does. I'm going to make a trifle, haven't had that for ages

Sartre · 28/07/2022 10:24

Never had it. I’m in my late 20s and it just isn’t something anyone I know has ever made or eaten.

DoctorTwo · 01/08/2022 20:56

I bit the bullet and bought one in the Tescos. Eating it tomorrow with some custard. Yum.

One of my staple winter puddings. I like it a bit sloppy. Often make with panettone.
