How much would you pay a teenager to feed 2 cats for a week?

He lives in our street, would need to visit twice a day. No litter tray to change. What's the going rate? He's 15 and we're in the Midlands (if that makes a difference!).

Beciase it doesn’t help make the point that the rest of us live in a middle class bubble and not in The real world like @FitAt50 😂😂

Quite. 😂

£5 a visit would be a bargain

LimboLass · 24/07/2022 23:31

£50 minimum per weekbI wouldn’t let my 15 yo do for less

Surely that should be her decision. By that age children should be allowed to work out the value of time and money rather than forced to think the same as their parents.

TimeToGoUpAGear · 24/07/2022 23:32

£30 (just seen your post) really isn't enough when they are committed to coming twice a day.

LimboLass · 24/07/2022 23:35

Start low and come up. No point offering £100 a week or the other equally silly prices mentioned if they will do it for £50 for both weeks.

But surely you are arguing against the minimum wage there.

kids won’t know when they are being taken advantage of. And may feel they have to say yes out of politeness or embarrassment.

pykng a 15 year old £2 a visit is pretty poor. I would agree with you if this was an adult child negotiating a pay rise - but surely under 18 year olds need a bit of parental steer on these things?

and in any case the parents will have to be involved. This boy is fine on the feeding, cleaning (cat vomit is not nice) and locking up. But will need his parents if one of the cats get sick or goes missing.

£10 a day.

Teenagers shouldn't be taken advantage off by cheapskate adults who don't want to pay appropriate money, though.

I'm glad there are parents on here who would stop their teens getting taken advantage of.
