Just for fun really if you can’t sleep either. I just imagine everyone on MN to;

  • Look like Mrs Hinch
  • Lives in a 4/5 bedroom detached spotless house with grey carpets throughout
  • Has a cleaner 2 days a week
  • Husband earns <£100k
What does everyone look like/ live like.

I’m 33 have medium length brown ratty hair. Currently size 10 and just under 10 stone. We currently rent a 2 bed flat in the centre of a medium size town next to a funeral directors and a Subway. I earn £24k and DH earns about £40k

5,8”, long dark brown hair, size 10, live in a 3 bed townhouse in a lovely little village on the outskirts of a medium sized city, house is an absolute shit hole with a toddler running around destroying everything in reach, partner and I make around £55k between us, a comfortable but not lavish lifestyle.

Early 40s, shoulder length dark hair (with greys) - face looks early 30s but hair gives it away.
size 6 in m&s/Oliver Bonas but not skinny when naked!
married with primary school aged children
Live in 5/6 bed semi in greater London (zone 3)
Combined gross income >£300k (roughly even split between the two of us)
Cleaner 1x/wk
Love grey but not Mrs Hinch style - like warm greys and natural browns. No grey carpet. Lots of clutter & piles of clean laundry waiting for their owners to put away.

NiqueNique · 19/07/2022 14:14

Should add, for integrity’s sake, that my M&S clothing is old. I’ve not bought from them for several years now as I’m boycotting and will do so resolutely until they decide that women and children matter just as much as males do (solidarity @Sunfriedegg!).

QuestionableMouse · 19/07/2022 13:46

Fat, poor and extremely working class. 😂

This is me also Grin

My house isn't grey or tidy, it's rented and although it's massive the interior hasn't been updated in many years so it's sort of granny chic mixed with child and baby toy and accessories jumble sale.

I always picture other mumsnetters to be exactly like the Motherland cast.

Solosunrise · 19/07/2022 14:20

Just a fairly average middle aged white female human over here 👋
Not fat, not thin, middle income ish. Terraced house in a bog standard small town.
Hair went mad in lockdown so lopped it off and went short. The only grey in this house is my hair. Husband's is a glorious silver 😍 Both semi retired.

A few not very outing hobbies beween us. Mostly outdoor stuff. Watch too much telly.
Grown up kids we see often but not too often. Love them all to the moon and back but we all like our independence.

Certainly not at Hinch levels re housework. Clean enough to be healthy, dirty enough to be happy is my motto.
Very content and don't tend to fall out with people.
I feel privileged to be me. Very lucky and i don't take anything for granted.

wibblewobbleball · 19/07/2022 14:23

I'm size 20/22, brown haired, 5' 6". Live in a beautiful 4 bed detached house with two fancy SUVs that everyone here would slate, have a very senior job that's v well paid as does my husband, and we have 2 kids. Everyone in real life would be shocked I use Mumsnet Grin and everyone on Mumsnet would be shocked to learn I mostly love the bargain threads Grin

DeedIDo · 19/07/2022 14:32

66, size 14,on a bad day, 12 on a good. Two DC grown up, gone, and settled. Retired from education two years ago. Two and a half months sober now and engaged in reframing what is left of my life. Need to find a way to fill the gap left by the fact that I will never be a grandparent.

PeanutAnarchy · 19/07/2022 14:37

This is fun!
Though admitting I looked up Mrs Hinch probably gives me away.
I'm nearly 60 and very much into the natural look, so hair has white streaks in it.
Only own 2 dresses and they're strictly for 'best' - I live in M&S 'relaxed fit' joggers at home. Otherwise it's jeans if I'm going out. I'm size 12 and average height.
Work part time from home. Not sure exactly what I earn, but think around £40,000.
Still paying off the mortgage and for the kids to get through uni (late starter on most fronts).
Pretty content I guess Wink

1Step2Step · 19/07/2022 14:37

Look like Mrs Hinch- I don’t know who she is or what she looks like
Lives in a 4/5 bedroom detached spotless house with grey carpets throughout - I’m in a detached 5 bedroom house but with taupe carpets that are 14 yo and in need of replacing
Has a cleaner 2 days a week - no, I clean my own house. It’s a drag.
Husband earns <£100k - yes

Lacedwithgrace · 19/07/2022 14:38

Nearly 29, 5'2 and slim. Dyed black long straight hair. Dress like a goth when I go out, yoga teacher when I stay in. Live with tall husband and mad daughter in a big farmhouse in the countryside near Norwich. House is clean and smells nice but 50,000 jobs to do and snacks hidden in every decorative box and side table. The only hinching here is my love of scented cleaning products and a good label

mumonthehill · 19/07/2022 14:42

Late 40’s size 18 flabby bod but do have decent curly hair. Live in a rural area in a 4 bed house. Have decent wage but no cleaner thus the hundreds of cobwebs! 2 ds one at uni and have a DH.

GalesThisMorning · 19/07/2022 14:54

42, long greying brown hair, most of my clothes come from charity shops or friend's cast offs as I really hate to shop... Live in a small miners cottage on the side of a mountain. Unlike Mrs Hinch I am very relaxed about sharing my home with spiders, slugs, silver fish and woodlice. Our decor has been described (by us!) as 'ethnic bazaar in a cave'.

Earn around 52K between me and my husband. 2 kids with a massive age gap.
I am very normal and very happy 😊

spiderlight · 19/07/2022 15:01

I was not expecting Mrs Hinch to be that young!!

I've just turned 50, long blonde hair with a few silver streaks that I try not to look at, self-employed and WFH due to long-term health issues. I live with mad professor DH, one teen son and a rescue dog in a fairly ordinary semi full of books and dog hair (and no grey carpets). I'm an ageing hippy/metalhead, vegetarian from childhood, live in jeans and t-shirts and generally look as if I've slept in a hedge. We have an organic allotment and this would be no surprise to anyone who's seen us - picture Tom and Barbara Good with more black clothes and more hair!

sjxoxo · 19/07/2022 15:04

…I am 35, size 12/14, had baby a few months ago so look like shit definitely not like Mrs Hinch 😂 I live in a little house in normandy. No carpets but I do have grey shutters!

No one has mentioned their Veja trainers.
ha ha!

Vampirethriller · 19/07/2022 15:09

41, fat, definitely not Mrs Hinch-alike. Earn under £9000 a year and live in a council flat on an inner city estate.
White hair, grey eyes, work as a cleaner. Very tall.

WinterCarlisle · 19/07/2022 15:11

Look nothing like Mrs Hinch. I’m 5’3, red hair and a size 12-14. Mid 40s and just realising that I need to start looking after my skin. Live in an unpopular London suburb that we love, great community and and a fantastic group of friends. 5 bed semi that is NEVER tidy. 3 DC. 2 dogs, 2 cats. Lovely DH. I work PT for the NHS he works in finance. Combined income of around £100K. I feel incredibly lucky with my lot but am also v perimeno and grumpy as fuck.

Georgeskitchen · 19/07/2022 15:17

I've no idea what Mrs Hinch looks like!! Me, I'm early 60s, blonde , used to have a svelte size 10 figure until menopause, now middle aged spread . House mortgage free in a nicer area of a down at heel town . Hubby retired , me semi retired. Kids grown up and now young grandchildren who live close by 😀

happygertie · 19/07/2022 15:19

Early 40's size 16, long blonde hair, average height. live in a 2 bed semi. No kids, 2 dogs. I earn 31k and DH earns 40k. No great in my house whatsoever. My house is more coastal grandma style

BusySittingDown · 19/07/2022 15:19

Ooh interesting. I always imagine most MNers to look like a middle aged news reader ie, slim, early 40s, smartly dressed with smart, blow dried hair. Middle class, nice house, high earning professional possibly on a career break to bring up kids.

RicherThanYew · 19/07/2022 15:27

5"10 enormously fat size 26, hardly any hair due to alopecia, massive crippled feet, really butch face with lopsided eyes. Live in a tiny 2 bedroom terraced house that has broken floors and stained walls where the dog walks past. I have 3 sacks of items waiting to walk themselves to a charity shop, too many shoes that I can't wear and dozens of bags that I can't use. I have one kid, one husband and im common as fuck. 15 tattoos, really obviously shit teeth, can't drive and the lessons I took went badly, no degree, will be unemployed very soon because my boss is embezzling and the company will go under. We have takeaways every week and I don't know who the fuck Mrs Hinch is. Don't drink, don't smoke and don't go to national trust houses so I'm certain I don't belong here. Like Waynetta Slob with better personal hygiene.

Ragwort · 19/07/2022 15:29

60+, nice grey hair, size 18 and overweight, earn just over NMW from a p/t job but do live in a very nice house with mortgage paid off cheap part of the country. Bit of a do gooder as I genuinely enjoy my volunteering work. DH retired. Older parents so DS still at Uni.

But also totally lazy, no grey carpets, minimal housework - but I do iron Grin . Loathe 'cooking from scratch'.

Bloodybridget · 19/07/2022 15:32

I don't know what Mrs Hinch looks like; possibly I'm a dead ringer. Is she late 60s, white, a little shorter than average height with grey hair and specs?
I have never had a DH as I bat for the other team. DP and I both retired and neither of us ever earned 100k. House quite big enough and fairly clean usually.

ForTheLoveOfSleep · 19/07/2022 15:45

34, 5ft 2", 11 stone, currently garnet red long curly hair, three children.3 bed semi detached house in a small devon village. Married with a household income of 40k. House is clean but usually untidy, piles of clean washing, toys etc.

Cass654 · 19/07/2022 16:00

32, 5ft8, red curly hair, 1 bed council flat, Scouser and a down to earth don't give a shit type person.
Although I'm really feminine and love girly stuff. Flat is a tip and desperately needs a declutter. I love a bargain and defo can't afford a cleaner 😂

Peachypips78 · 19/07/2022 16:03

44, dyed blond hair, overweight. Covered in horse fly bites and down with Covid currently. Wearing shortie pjs. Sunburnt bum.

16th century farmhouse in the middle of nowhere that is caught in the 60s inside, and needs so much work we haven't got the money we need to do it all! But it's got an amazing outside.

One husband, two teen boys, one dog. Work for the NHS in the mental health crisis team. Not paid a great deal but we have enough to live on so I count myself very fortunate.
