What soap do you use at the kitchen sink for your hands?

My mum has asked me to get her some hand washing soap for the kitchen. She normally has liquid soap but I have Nesti Dante bar soap. What do you use and what is best avoided? I can't get to anywhere like tkmax or b&m/home bargains but know people often says about soaps from there. It needs to be online or from a small Asda/boots/Superdrug/co-op/pharmacy. Thank you!

I use any old cheap liquid soap. I got a pack of 2 foam hand soap dispenser from amazon. So now I only put a little soap and the rest water and it comes out all lovely and foaming and a bottle of liquid soap now lasts me ages.

FuckingHateRats · 12/07/2022 20:12

Whatever is on offer and smells like aloe and cucumber.

Dontwanttooffendlocals · 12/07/2022 20:13

I just use Asda own brand handwash, I slather hand cream on anyway so only need something to wash with, no need for some sort of luxury item!

Asda hand wash

Think we have cheap astonish hand-wash just now. Buy whatever is on offer

hattie43 · 12/07/2022 20:18

Molton brown hand wash

Spanglybangles · 12/07/2022 20:19

@Inthesameboatatmo i had no idea you could do this. I shall be reusing my foaming hand wash bottle now. Thanks 😊

FuncaMunca · 12/07/2022 20:20

At the moment we're using Dr. Bronner's Peppermint Pump Soap and it's awesome - so minty! - albeit a bit pricey

collieresponder88 · 12/07/2022 20:23

@Spanglybangles it really does save on the soap. Probably need honestly no more than a tea spoon of soap to get one bottle of foaming . I've even been known to use morrisons value washing up liquid or cheap shower gel from aldi or even tesco value bubble bath. Soap is soap I say !

Carex, the white one, I don't like anything too smelly in the kitchen as it taints the smell of food

SBAM · 12/07/2022 20:30

Carex, the blue antibacterial one for by the kitchen sink and in downstairs loo. The white moisturising carex for the bathroom sink.

LubaLuca · 12/07/2022 20:31

You don't need to give it a lot of thought. Buy whatever is on offer in the shop that's easiest for you to go in.

Greydogs123 · 12/07/2022 20:34

Is it weird that I just use a bit of the washing up
liquid? I never really get why you need a different soap for your hands in the kitchen, soap is soap.

MassiveSalad22 · 12/07/2022 20:35

Fairy liquid :)

MeMe3Spoons · 12/07/2022 20:36

My mum absolutely loves a nice selection from Pure Thoughts as a gift, there are lots to choose from and they gift wrap too if you want to get them delivered direct to the recipient. They do a specific kitchen one and the lavendar and lemon is a favourite too.

lisavanderpumpscloset · 12/07/2022 20:38

I buy the Palmolive kitchen handwash

Fairy liquid :)

Me too!

WinterMusings · 12/07/2022 20:41

my preference is a French olive oil bar soap, but with Covid I swapped back to liquid soap & use carex. I prefer the French soap (in the shower too) but I'm not going this summer & I'm not sure about the charge of changes re postage since brexit. I don't want to end up paying a small fortune at the post office to collect them.

woolwinder · 12/07/2022 20:41

We wash our hands in the washbasin in the bathroom, using Oliva olive oil soap or the Dermol 500 pump I get on prescription for dry skin. The kitchen sink is for washing dishes, filling up the watering can, etc. Are we weird?

Wiglio · 12/07/2022 20:42

If you can get to a Waitrose google their offers this week. They usually have liquid soaps on offer

PeekAtYou · 12/07/2022 20:47

Palmolive Milk and Honey in the bathroom.
Aldi White Company Dupe in the downstairs loo
Aldi Molton Brown dupe in the kitchen (orange and bergamot I think?)

I buy whatever is on offer and smells good

lurchermummy · 12/07/2022 20:52

If you mix water and a tiny bit of soap in a dispenser does it not dilute the preservatives? I could imagine it might go a bit manky after a while?

I use bar soap in the shower but can't imagine having a bar by the kitchen sink - just use an Aldi cheaply.
