Anyone watching Kyrgios v Djokovic?

It's annoying me how Kyrgios is having ongoing conversations with his coach etc in the players' box.

And his backwards baseball cap!

Where is gentleman Federererererer when you need him?!

So did I @Bestshapeever

Anjo2011 · 10/07/2022 17:40

The best player won. He kept his composure and wasn’t put off by Kyrgios antics. Kyrgios could have done it had he focussed and stopped kicking off. Not a massive fan of either, I’m more Team Federer! But Djokovic was different gravy. A true pro.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 10/07/2022 17:43

WHY is he allowed to behave like this on court, he behaviour is appalling? What's he moaning about? I can't ever work it out 🙄🤣

I dont disagree with people changing nationality but she had many different offers including college tennis in America also, so she wasnt forced. She could have kept her nationality and gone to America to learn her craft. Her parents still live in Moscow. When asked about her opinion on the invasion, she conveniently says her English isn't good enough to answer the questions.

And had Rusedski won or Norrie in the future it wouldn't mean as much to me than when Murray won or if Henman had have won.

That was actually very close match considering NK is ranked 40th.

Did anyone else notice how he remembered things like the time since a 2nd fault?

He's clearly hyper vigilant.

Part of his low ranking is because he doesn't do the tour.

He very much picks and chooses. He hasn't done the clay at all this year.

BIWI · 10/07/2022 17:54

So did the woman who was calling out to Kyrgios get evicted then? I missed that.

ChinBristles · 10/07/2022 17:56

700 drinks lady - if you're reading this, what is your version of events?!

Super emotional watching the goodbyes to Sue Barker

Darbs76 · 10/07/2022 18:15

Aww Sue Barker will miss you, she is the voice of Wimbledon. Really enjoyed this years tennis. Not even much of a tennis fan but the last couple of years I’ve loved it. Nick’s an absolute fool, go and watch the sushi eating interview in week 1!

shivermetimbers77 · 10/07/2022 18:17

In my experience of going to Wimbledon , many many people are significantly tipsy , especially on a hot day. So I’m sure she was not the only one to have had 700 drinks!! When I was there a few years ago, the man in front of me was completely drunk and fell asleep in the middle of a very tense semi final.. and out on Henman hill I sat in front of a group of guys who were clearly on something a lot stronger than alcohol! Seriously, they were treating it like a rave 😂

twilightermummy · 10/07/2022 18:28

Haha, 700 drinks 😂
I’m gutted Kyrgios lost. I’m sick of Djokovic, he’s like a machine - so robotic.
I’m sick of seeing Prince William in his stuffy suits on boiling hot days as well.
Anyway, completely loved Wimbledon again this year. Shame about Nadal but it’s been great.
People moaning about Andrew Castle has made me laugh!

Awwww yes. John McEnroe did a lovely job there!

TitsInAbsentia · 10/07/2022 18:33

I'm gutted Sue is going, she'll be a tough one to replace :(

velvetvixen · 10/07/2022 18:39

I miss the sheer elegance of the Duchess of Kent handing out the prizes too.

Winner!
Kyrios behaviour is often disgraceful. But on this occasion I think he had a couple of very valid points. I thought the umpire was very poor. he didn't ask for the crowd to be quiet enough. he didn't give a warning to the woman who turned out to be pissed who was disturbing kyrios who was later evicted but they took their time doing it. and he didn't challenge a point, because kyrios didn't have enough challenges left, if the game were to continue for many other points and he said you should've challenged it, it was right under your nose, which is actually very true. why did the umpire not not questioned the decision himself.

I agree. No excuse for swearing, but can’t recall this umpire (Reneau?) saying ‘quiet please’ to the spectators once.

Roselilly36 · 10/07/2022 18:45

Awesome match, the speeches were lovely too. Such a shame it’s over for another year, throughly enjoyed it.

Arnaquer · 10/07/2022 21:45

Serena1977 · 10/07/2022 17:21

I've found Wimbledon this year quite flat.

The realisation that the personalities of Serena , Roger, Andy, Venus, Kevin Anderson, Tsonga and many others are no more.

Never been a fan of Novak for obvious reasons nor Kygrios.

Didnt like the style and personality of the ladies winner who being lured away by money doesn't change your nationality.

The only highlight for me was seeing more of Gabeur's style

Agree I have barely watched a whole match.

The DM got it 🤣 Apparently she'd only had two drinks but the sun got to her. She was trying to show her support. She said she might have taken it too far but she had good intentions.
