Anyone watching Kyrgios v Djokovic?

It's annoying me how Kyrgios is having ongoing conversations with his coach etc in the players' box.

And his backwards baseball cap!

Where is gentleman Federererererer when you need him?!

The red hat. Oh, you huge rebel.

Maireas · 10/07/2022 17:19

Djokavic bowed.

TheMess · 10/07/2022 17:20

Come on, be nice to Sue.

He is slightly redeeming himself

I've found Wimbledon this year quite flat.

The realisation that the personalities of Serena , Roger, Andy, Venus, Kevin Anderson, Tsonga and many others are no more.

Never been a fan of Novak for obvious reasons nor Kygrios.

Didnt like the style and personality of the ladies winner who being lured away by money doesn't change your nationality.

The only highlight for me was seeing more of Gabeur's style

itsgettingweird · 10/07/2022 17:21

It's like a different person 🫣

"Thank you for bringing your spectacular brand of tennis to Wimbledon" - Sue Barker. WTF?!

Winner!
Kyrios behaviour is often disgraceful. But on this occasion I think he had a couple of very valid points. I thought the umpire was very poor. he didn't ask for the crowd to be quiet enough. he didn't give a warning to the woman who turned out to be pissed who was disturbing kyrios who was later evicted but they took their time doing it. and he didn't challenge a point, because kyrios didn't have enough challenges left, if the game were to continue for many other points and he said you should've challenged it, it was right under your nose, which is actually very true. why did the umpire not not questioned the decision himself.

Agree.

He's obviously very full of adrenaline and doesn't come across calmly but you have to separate that.

itsgettingweird · 10/07/2022 17:23

I actually do think they actually do get on well.

Kindred spirits in their own way!

I’m glad it’s not just me that thought this was inane.

I don't think Kate has extensions. For length nor for volume.

MadameMinimes · 10/07/2022 17:25

He was remarkably gracious in defeat. I was nervous when he approached the microphone.

This is a match where for different reasons, I'd like both players to lose.

Me too!

The pink puffball dress is something Grayson Perry would wear. The shade is awful.

She pinched it from Jodie Comer in Killing Eve

She wasnt "lured away" by money. It was her only option. The Russian tennis federation dropped her. She couldn't fund it herself.
She wasnt lured away. She was pushed. She wanted to keep playing tennis and found a way to do it. The deals Kazakhstan have been handing out might be dodgy but they're trying to get a tennis programme going and getting talent to become a citizen is one way to do that.

The rules allowed her to play. Whatever your opinion on how Russian she still is.

Britain has current and past players who weren't British when they were born. They have become British citizens and play for Britain now. Do you also disagree with that?

Rugges · 10/07/2022 17:29

Oh what a lovely lovely speech Djok gave. So pleased for him.

Maireas · 10/07/2022 17:30

Lovely to see his little girl, although I don't know what he meant about his son?
Nice speech.

Rugges · 10/07/2022 17:32

I think he meant his son is gaming somewhere?

[looks at my two sons who are indeed gaming somewhere]

chiffchaffchiff · 10/07/2022 17:36

Are those British players and their parents still living in their original country?

Sapphirejane · 10/07/2022 17:38

His son was off playing tennis with another tennis players son so missed his Dad winning Wimbledon!

Bestshapeever · 10/07/2022 17:39

I thought something might be said about Sue retiring
