I've just renewed last Wednesday.
I'm hoping it doesn't take too long as I have a holiday booked.
Has anyone else renewed etc lately ?

CinderellyCinderelly · 08/07/2022 14:04

Child's first passport - exactly 4 weeks from the date they received the birth certificate. Got the passport this morning.

fuckboris · 08/07/2022 14:06

Child’s first passport, 4 weeks exactly. Had a photo declined on Wednesday at 13:30, uploaded a new one at 13:37 and passport was approved 7 minutes later. Arrived today.

ActualMadness · 08/07/2022 14:07

@Mumabear239 i am really not sure, my dd turned 16 yesterday so I am sure that will cause issues as I applied 4 months ago for a child’s renewal as that was correct at the time.

Mumabear239 · 08/07/2022 14:13

@ActualMadness is yours in the Glasgow office that’s where my sons went am actually going to call today for update , my boys was only a child renewal but my youngest who’s passport I received 7days later needed to be verified by someone and was still done before my oldest son who doesn’t need verified it’s so stressful .

Runnerbeansflower · 08/07/2022 14:18

First child passport, documents received 12 May, no further movement 😡

Justyou · 08/07/2022 14:21

I can’t believe how long some are taking my dd’s 1st adult cane back in exactly 2 weeks, start of June

ActualMadness · 08/07/2022 14:37

@Mumabear239 no it’s Durham, they have our entire families renewals all sent in one envelope for documentation purposes.

Mumabear239 · 08/07/2022 15:09

Fingers crossed for you @ActualMadness . When you fly out? I think al be cancelling or moving dates if my sons doesn’t arrive in time .

ActualMadness · 08/07/2022 15:26

@Mumabear239 not until the middle of August so got another 6 weeks to go, if we don’t have them back point it will be shy of 6 months

NameChangedToAnswer · 08/07/2022 15:34

Renewed my adult passport online and the new one came back in a bit less than 2 weeks!

WhyNott · 08/07/2022 15:36

Those who have applied for first child passports was this online or by post? I sent the birth certificate with the original form haven't had any kind of confirmation of documents recieved. You also can't track a postal application easily, I filled in a form online which said they would email me an update and they never have, that was weeks ago.

ActualMadness · 08/07/2022 15:49

@WhyNott not mine are postal applications you can track them easily using the automated system as long as you made a note of the barcode number. Ring the normal advice line option 3, followed by 1 followed by 2 that takes you straight to the automated system. You enter the barcode and dob

Runnerbeansflower · 08/07/2022 16:06

I did DD's on line

Mumabear239 · 08/07/2022 16:09

Same @ActualMadness we are 24th Augusts so fingers crossed 🤞 🙂

WhyNott · 08/07/2022 22:04

Thank you so much @ActualMadness I'm going to try that, hopefully it gives me a positive update 🤞

WhyNott · 08/07/2022 22:09

Just did that and it said 'we have all the information we need to continue with your application' hopefully that's a good sign?

JobQuandree · 08/07/2022 22:12

I renewed DS's online on 20th June. It arrived on July 4th. That included having someone verify his picture.

SirChenjins · 08/07/2022 22:12

About three weeks for DH and DS’s renewals - no time at all. We were expecting a long wait so got a pleasant surprise. We did it all at the post office, not sure if that makes a difference.

SouffleGirl1 · 08/07/2022 22:16

Just done a renewel, took 2 weeks from application for it to arrive on my doorstep, very quick.

swimmingincustard · 08/07/2022 22:30

Received yesterday - 9 days from when I posted the old passport, renewal for young DD. Hers went to a Peterborough.
My DFs didn't take much longer, that went up to Scotland.

hopeishere · 09/07/2022 07:54

The variations are crazy!!

LittleFriendSusan · 09/07/2022 08:37

Just posted on another passport thread but all very quick for us too - just under 2 weeks from application / 1 week from receipt of old passport for both DS & me (Bootle & Peterborough offices).

Mumabear239 · 09/07/2022 14:41

@ActualMadness i contacted them
today about lost documents (old passport) and they said report it lost and they will process application for my son . Fingers crossed for everyone
