We are not looking to go away till September but I'm really eager to get the holiday booked but I know I can't till passport arrives!

Application was received on 14th June and I got an email on 20th June to say documents had been received. I have not heard anything since.

When I did my sons (before 1st lockdown ) it literally came within 2 /3weeks of applying. I'm aware there is a big back log but any experience on how long it may take would be appreciated. Thank you

Up to 10 weeks from the date they confirm docs received.

In practice, many come back far quicker, but there have been awful problems with the issuing of passports and some really are taking that long.

You cannot expedite until over 10 weeks or within 2 weeks of travel
