Given how difficult it is to offer hints for redactle, without giving it away/being too obvious, this is a specific thread for hints.

Doesn't mean that they should give the game away, but it just stops other players seeing the hint every time they access the main thread.

So from now on, just keep your stats and general comments on the main thread and come here for any hints!

I have the first word in the heading and the last word. Can anyone give me a clue as to the middle word please? Am really stuck!!!!

I’ve got it! I’m embarrassed to say I actually put the missing word in at 197 guesses, but spelt the last syllable phonetically 😂😂😂 so I could have actually got that!

Because it's still open on my laptop! It's only if I refresh it, or close my laptop down, that it will move to the new game

I play on my phone and always end up accidentally refreshing a few times when scrolling up too far, I couldn't risk fat fingersing it onto the next puzzle.

How do you avoid the inevitable slew of posts just after 5pm on the boast thread asking what yesterday's word was?

I avoid the thread until I'm either finished or desperate!

My heart sinks when I scan through the text and see lots of little single-digit redected words. Especially when they have even tinier ones attached to them. I just know it's gonna be a stinker for me 😫

I feel like we haven't had a person for a while, apart from the obscure German philosopher. I love the film/actor/literature ones. I dragged out Lord Byron even when I thought it was him because I was having fun guessing words!

Is it an initial then? I thought - given the size of the black block - it must be some kind of abbreviation.

I got stuck on that for ages, thinking it was mr or sir or something, but Pedantle is a bastard for box sizes.
It's just one letter before the dot.

Pedantle has had 2 people in a row though, which evens things out a bit. And redactle has had 7 or 8 people since I started playing (depending on whether you count Abraham as a person) whereas I think todays was only the second occurrence of this topic, I think it's been under-represented till now.

I did all right on today's, lucked out and got the second word before too long. I just had a look at my stats and my worst one by quite a long chalk, accuracy-wise, was actually "Focus". I just couldn't get a grip on that one.

What's going on with th security warning thing? Is it dangerous to ignore it?

I ignored it yesterday and haven't exploded yet.

How do you ignore it? I can't get past it.

You can press on 'advanced' an bypass it. It still says it's not secure.

It's also very strange today. Hardly anything is a hit. It's almost like they're trying to keep you on it for as long as possible. I have closed it down. Be interested to hear what others think.

It's not a very long article so nothing except the actual title words actually has a lot of hits.
I found the topic fairly quickly from trying directions and noticing that one appeared in an odd context.

@InMySpareTime what do you mean by directions? North.....?
