Redactle - THE HINTS THREAD

Given how difficult it is to offer hints for redactle, without giving it away/being too obvious, this is a specific thread for hints.

Doesn't mean that they should give the game away, but it just stops other players seeing the hint every time they access the main thread.

So from now on, just keep your stats and general comments on the main thread and come here for any hints!

my computer was strange this morning, asking for passwords, so i assumed that was the reason
couldnt resist playing though!

I had the page and got the solution ... managed to fill in enough of the first paragraph in somewhere around 20 guesses and with (iirc)100% accuracy to know I'd never heard of the name of the thing I was looking for and CBA to think of words to fit (I'd got the last one). So I googled a phrase I'd filled in at that point. And then when I refreshed to get the score I got a certificate expired message and safari won't let me continue.

When I got the safety warning I just clicked ADVANCED and then it gives an option to continue to site

Safari has the option to continue a bit more buried.

What is this new hell you have brought me to. I have what I guess is a big clue from some guesses and I'm none the wiser!

Maybe if you tell us what the clue you've found is (remember to preface with a couple of lines of something else so it's 'hidden') we can try to give a bit of help from there?

Definitely a difficult one today - I don't think anyone without the relevant degree would have come across the phrase. Knowing enough about the general area to fill in quite a lot of words (and letters) didn't really help.

Less specific. Ok. That's good. Generally mathsy. As I did law and dabbled in creative arts we may take a scatter gun approach!

Definitely terms you'd know from even GCSE level. Remember my earlier clue about the spelling of the second word being a bit different for nerds.

Great thread. I’d basically given up on the game itself as just too hard for me but I got this one especially with the tip on the second word.

Hit one word early, stabbed around a bit. Eventually got it in 64.

Can we all preface our posts with the number of the redactle puzzle we're doing? I generally don't start till the day after it's been published. By which time some have moved on to the next day's!

I didn't think you could play old games after the new one lands, how are you managing that?
